TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

As the Follies Grow..

Not much has really changed.  R side has 6 left side has 5 all at about 13mm and each side has 4 smaller ones under 10mm so I have a total of about 19 follies, which is good for my age, but hurts my lady bits.  Lining is 11.  E2 is at 1400.  And as of today it looks like ER is Tuesday.  BUT, based on how my body has reacted in the past to Gonal, now is the time it likes to stagnate for a bit, so I might be stiming a bit longer and ER might be later.

I already had to order more Menopure (which really is Satin's Piss, thank you Entropic for that apt description!), and Ganarelix is awful.  Everytime I do a shot of Ganarelix, I feel like someone punched me in the stomach and it takes about an hour for that feeling to go away.

Oh and the increase in hormones is causing insomnia.  Benadryl and other relaxation techniques are helping, but not as much as I need.  Part of the problem is DH's work schedule.  He comes home at midnight every night and it is seriously the only time in the day that I see him, which sucks so much!  I miss my husband!  And to make it worse, this schedule might stay that way for about 3 more months.  Crying    At least he is here in VA and not away in another state on a different job.  That is some comfort.

Wow, this is longer than I intended.

Re: As the Follies Grow..

  • Sorry to hear you aren't sleeping and that dh is working so late. Ganorelix was always my least favorite of the shots I did. Crossing my fingers for you this cycle and hope your retrieval will be tuesday. Hope you are sleeping better soon.

  • I am glad that you have lots of good size follies growing and I hope you don't have to stim for too long.

I agree on the Menopure, that was my least favorite shot!!  Burned like he!!  - it was way worse than the lovenox, which I had heard was the worst.  Ugh!!  I was on lupron, not ganorelix, so I have not felt that agony of that.

I will say that for the lovenox, to keep the burn away, I iced for a few minutes before and after the shot and I do really think that helped.  Then with the PIO I applied heat for like 10 minutes and then iced for a minute and then heat after.  I know you aren't on that now, but maybe it could help with the other shots.  I had almost no pain from the PIO.

I am so excited for you!!!  I can't wait to hear more progress!!!

  • Very cautiously excited for you! And remember, they're not slow follies... they're DIVA follies who will NOT be rushed.

I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable. They last few days suck. The novelty (and nerves) are totally gone and it just plain sucks. HUGS.

  • Menopur is the worst but I mixed it with Bravelle so I thought that's why it sucked. Hang in there, you're almost done!

And one word.....Ambien.  Ask your RE for a prescription, it's a drug from the heavens! Big Smile

  • Grow, follies, grow!  Menopur did burn pretty bad, but the worst for me was PIO, although I had a much worse reaction than most and had to be taken off of it.  I'm sorry you aren't getting much sleep.  Only a few more days of shots though, so that's good news!

  • Gooooo follies!!!

You have my total sympathies. Getting towards retrieval is so uncomfortable and you just want them out already! I hope they don't stall and you can retrieve on schedule.

Satan's Piss, indeed. Man, that stuff was total crap.
