Anybody been or live near the tulips?

We were planning on taking the Inlaws to the tulips this weekend, after checking their FB page it doesn't look like the Tulips have really bloomed yet.  I know the ones in my yard are still closed up.  So I am wondering if anybody has been or lives up that way and can tell me what they think.  Is is worth the drive from Tacoma or should we find something else to do?

Thanks!

  • My sister just put up some pics she took last week and they looked pretty to me :) She lives up in Bham. Just fyi-- its REALLY muddy so dress accordingly. Not great for strollers so if you have a carrier that would be easier.

  • I was up last weekend visiting family. Your best bet is going to be Rosengarde, the fields were pretty much just daffodils but the gardens we're just starting to bloom with tulips. If we get some sun this weekend it should be enough for them to start blooming though.
  • Thank you ladies.
  • I say go now and beat the crowds.  Once they are in full bloom, it is insane the amount of traffic there is on a weekend.  The drive is nothing really... I do Tacoma to Sedro-Woolley ALL the time :)

  • There's a map that shows which fields are in bloom:

My favorite field to visit is Tulip Town.  Lots of varieties, tractor rides, and a market area to shop.

  • I went a couple years ago and, although its pretty, its not something I would do again. There's not a ton of things to do up there, or a ton of places to eat, so it might be difficult with little ones in tow.
