Trying to Get Pregnant

Gender swaying

If you are swaying for a certain gender, which one?

What are you/DH doing specifically?

I am not rigid about it because I would be happy with either gender, but am trying for a girl since they are "rare" in DH family.

I am taking cranberry, magnesium, calcium citrate, baby aspirin, and folic acid (the FA does not gender sway). I also don't eat red meat very often. DH takes a few of the same supplements as well.

  • We would love to have a little girl! We have two sons and this will be our last baby so a girl would be absolutely wonderful!!!! Not really taking anything in particular except my prenatals though. I dont eat red meat anyways.

  • DH and I both really want a girl. Of course we'll be happy with a boy too, but we're hoping our first will be a little princess.

Ditto this. We have 2 boys and this is it, so I would love a daughter. A healthy baby is most important, but I would definitely love a daughter. I am not really trying anything different, just hoping for the best. I drink plenty cranberry anyway (very prone to UTIs) and not a big red meat eater so that won't come in to play.

TO ALL THOSE THAT WILL SAY "I don't see how anyone could possibly have a preference, ANY baby will do". She didn't say she would hate a boy, just that she would prefer to have a girl. Go find something else to get pissy about!!!!!!

Oy. Seriously? DH and I are just having sex...hoping for ANY baby, male or female.

P.S. baby aspirin? Did your DR clear that? Because, you know, it's not really recommended for TTC unless you have a clotting disorder that might be causing miscarriages or other issues.

  • Everyone in both DH's and my families would like a boy.  1 boy out of 9 grandchildren....

But, I would also be happy with another little girl.  I see how my 2 DD's interact and I love that.  DD1 would really like a little brother, 'but not one that cries'.  She wanted a little sister last time because 'baby girls don't cry as much as baby boys'.

  • I would be happy with either but with 3 girls I would love a little boy Smile
  • Since we already have a boy, we would really like a girl.  Plus this will be our last so I would love one of each.  But another boy would be wonderful too.  I just love all the baby girl dresses, shoes, bows, etc...Big Smile

  • Yes, I am on baby asprin for medical reasons.

I am not saying I only want a girl. I am not even taking this swaying thing very seriously. Just added a few supplements that perfectly reasonable to take. Whatever we get, we get. I want to help create a happy and healthy adult person regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.

Yes Just get me pregnant with a healthy baby and I'm happy!  I'm sure when we try for #2 we'll be hoping for one or the other, but right now I'm just hoping for a healthy baby!

  • I would really love a little girl.  Dh says he would like a little girl too so I can go and do girly things with her Big Smile Really though I would be very happy with either.

  • I currently have one of each. I tried to time it back a little bit in hopes to get another girl but I Oed earlier than I thought so God showed me! I'd love having both sexes and will be happy no matter what. I just thought it would be easier to have the 2 youngest be the same sex. DS is 3.5 now so he will have a bigger age gap than my 21 month old. That and I always wanted a sister so I thought it would be nice for DD to have one. Like I said, I would be over the moon to have a baby at all and I feel so blessed to have a son and a daughter now.

We want more than one child so the first one really doesn't matter. I may have a preference on the second of the other sex but honestly as long as everyone is healthy it doesn't matter. Anything at this point would be amazing :)

  • TTC #1, so there's no pressure to have a specific gender.  I am minutely swayed towards having a boy since I am very attached to my little brother who is 6 years my junior.  I remember taking care of him a lot and being a bit of a tomboy, I loved playing with him all the boy toys he got.  DH's generation is nothing but males (out of over 20 first cousins, there are 2 girls!) but his cousins' kids have been mostly girls, so who knows?

  • I want one of each. So for #1, I really have no preferance. #2, though, I will want the opposite of what I already have.

Twins (boy and girl) would be awesome!

  • I've always wanted a boy first and I know the shettles method is not very effective (at least from what I've read) but I too just want a healthy baby.  On that note, I wanted to share a video a friend of mine shared on facebook... made me laugh.  At one point they're making fun of us (who just want a healthy baby- when asked what sex they want)...

  • I would like to have a little girl but we're not doing anything specifically for that, we both eat meat everyday so we'll probably have a boy
  • I want one of each.  I'm just having sex and hoping something will come of it besides the fun of it.  MH said he wanted boys but now that were actually trying he said either would be fine.

  • MH and I would be so very happy either way! As everyone else on here has mentioned the most important thing is that our baby be healthy. But since DH is the only male to carry on his family name, we have a small preference to have a boy first......although we agree more on girls names. Lol. Seriously whichever we get would be great!
