Hi ladies,
?For the last few months my uncle's wife, who I consider more a friend than an aunt, offered to watch the baby if I needed some time off. ?This week I realized I could def. use some help so I thought about hiring a sitter to come a 2-3 times a month for 4-5 hours. ?I asked her if she knew someone and she offered her help and suggested that I take the baby there or she could sometimes come to my house. ?She said not worry about paying her but I do, especially if I make this a monthly thing. ?What would you do? ?How much would you pay? ?I don't know if this would work on a regular basis b/c she lives far out and it would be nice to have someone close by. ?I don't know if she would like to be paid or if it would bother her if I offered since she does consider my son her great nephew.
Re: Advice on relative caring for baby
If she genuinely offered, then she doesn't want anything in return. I watch Sweetness on a weekly basis plus extra time in between, and I do it because I love her and enjoy every second I get with her. I don't want anything in return because getting to be a part of her life is the best gift to me in the world!
But as the others said, if you want to do something, do a spa gift certificate, or bring her home baked bread or something like that.
