Long torso bellies

Im 5'7" and normally 135lbs. I have a long torso to say the least. Like, its very hard to find a shirt that covers me unless its the long and lean tanks from target. So, this is my third pregnancy and I was wondering if any of you with long torsos barely show at all. Im 33 weeks along and people are dumb founded when I tell them Im due next month. I have never had a big belly. I assume me having this long torso gives the baby more space to stretch out so my belly doesnt pop out as much. Even on my due dates, people would think I was only half way there. I read posts all the time about how huge everyone else is. Is there anyone else with the opposite going on? Ill try to post a pic later, but today is DD1's 6th bday and she is sick with strept throat. Crying

Re: Long torso bellies

  • Im like you, I have a long torso and have been carrying LO very wierd. But then again, my uterus is tilted back just a bit so she has been hanging out back there for a while. Im just now getting a bump and thats because she has dropped. Im not too worried about it. Sad that I dont have this obvious preggo bump, but as long as LO is healthy and growing like she should, thats all I care about.

  • I am right there with you. I am 5'10" and people look amazed when I saw I only have a few weeks left. I have a friend due 2 months after me and is bigger then me.

  • im always amazed when baby websites reccomend buying maternity clothes at a certian time because Ive never even come close to showing any earlier than 7.5 months and then it was hardly at all. Oh well, better than being huge and uncomfy with my size I guess.

  • I'm with you ladies. I am 5'10" and all torso. My OB keeps telling me to tell all those people that keep telling me I haven't gained enough to stick it in their ears. She says I have a torso made for hiding babies. I have just started to "look" pregnant the last few weeks.

This is me all over it! Too bad Im not a teen who needs to hide a pregnancy, because I easily could!

  • I am in the long torso group too and in a way it kind of sucks cause no really knows I am PG unless I tell them.  I was bigger to start as well so LO doesn't stick out very far at all, me and DH can only tell when I don't have a shirt on and even then it isn't super noticable. I haven't taken any bump pics yet cause I think the fat just got harder not bigger.  Sorry for my little vent but I totally feel you, guess that means that after baby we can just slide right back to our regular clothes.

  • HAHA im 5'8" and have a very lonf torso, and i look like im about to POP! i think my baby is going to be huge tho! my DH is 6'5". I have a hard time finding anything that fits right or doesnt show my belly, or the stretchy part of the mat. pants. Its annoying... i wish i looked like i wasnt very far along, maybe my back wouldnt hurt so bad! :)
  • I'm with you too.  I'm not all that tall 5'5", but I'm all torso.  In design school we all had to draft patterns to our measurements and I had the same torso length ("back length") as my friends who were 5'8" and 5'9".  I make up for it with really short legs Sad

No one can believe I only have 3 weeks to go, they're all shocked when I tell them.

Children should be seen, and heard, and believed. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
