  We didn't need one until the baby was born since we were set as each others beneficiaries on the life insurance and everything else was in both of our names.  We haven't decided on a guardian yet (so impossibly difficult) so we haven't done one... we will as soon as we figure out who to choose.

  We just did ours last week.  Mostly because we wanted to establish guardianship.  We didn't want our parents fighting over her...and they would, too! :-)  Cost us $400 through a lawyer acquaintance for a will for me & DH plus a power of attorney for both of us.
