Hotmilk nursing bras?

Has anyone owned one of these?

I bought an Elle Machpherson nursing bra and it is extremely small. I unfortunately have a very large chest and couldn't find any at target or motherhood that even came close to fitting.

If you have any recommendations for nursing bras they would be greatly appreciated. I'm really cutting it close to buying one as I'm due Tuesday but my regular bras have been extremely comfortable and I didn't think I wanted to go the way of no under wire and I'm still hesitating at the thought.

Re: Hotmilk nursing bras?

  • I haven't - but after looking at a picture of myself today in a t-shirt and nursing tank - the tired girls need something fast! I have wanted to try Hot Milk, I just have been lazy about it. No more - tomorrow I am going to get fitted at VS and then go place an order for a HM.

  • You should ask on the EFF board - I remember not too long ago a bunch of ladies on there bought them.

  • Just be careful about buying nursing bras before your milk comes in.  I hate to tell you, but they will get bigger.  The best time to get them is about a month postpartum.  Get a few nursing tanks in a size larger than you think you will need for the first few weeks.
  • I am not sure about Hotmilk bras but I wanted to suggest checking Nordstrom?s or The Rack for bras. My cousin is very large chested and she generally can?s find bras that fit right; I know that she had good luck finding some at The Rack/Nordstrom?s.

  • I have no experience with Hot Milk, but I just ordered an Elila nursing bra.  I can let you know how it fits.  My girls are very large already and I ordered another cup and band size bigger than I'm wearing now.   The nursing tanks aren't going to hold me and I only have a couple of leisure bras that I can take to the hospital (which won't be all that convenient for nursing), so I wanted to have at least 1 with me.

I just took a BF-ing class this week and was told the LC's will be measuring me for a nursing bra size before I leave.  Maybe that will also happen at your hospital.  If milk doesn't come in fully by then, I guess it still won't be quite accurate, though.

  • I second the advice to wait.  It wasn't until a few days after delivery I reached my "full" potential.  [snicker].  Anything I would have bought before or the day after birth would not have fit when my milk was in.  Nursing tanks in xl worked for me, and honestly I just didn't wear a bra in the hospital since I was learning how to breastfeed and the maternity gowns had holes for nursing.
