Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Stupid teeth.

DS is sooo uncomfortable.  He has his bottom two teeth, but the two beside those popped through yesterday.  His top two have got to be so close, because his gums are super inflamed up there.  He's been happy, but sooo moody and he's in pain.  He tries so hard to keep smiling, but he will bite a toy or something and just burst into tears. I hate it!  Tonight he was really just beside himself, and I caved and gave him some Motrin.

Besides cold stuff to chew, etc.  What are other suggestions to help him?  I know the Hyland's tablets are still recalled, which makes me sad.  Ideas?

  • I didn't reply because I don't know what can help. Eli has one tooth he got 3 months ago and nothing helped him really. Tylenol some nights but we just put up with it until it was gone. I wish babies could just be born with teeth without that being creepy. haha.

  • Thanks- I wondered if maybe just nobody had suggestions.
I see those Amber teething necklaces/bracelets, but I don't know if its worth a shot for DS because he's SO nosey, I'm afraid he would end up too interested in it.

I tried Orajel once- scared me.... his already drooly self got 5 times worse and I was afraid he was going to choke on all of the drool!!

  • ugh i wish i knew. her top gums have been puffy and inflamed since dec but still no teeth. this past week has been the absolute worst of all and we have done everything.

we give her chamomila pellets and when she's really bad the motrin/orajel.

i feel so bad for her :(

  • Baby Orajel containing benzocaine is not recommended by the FDA for children under two.

I don't know if you're BF or FF, but nursing/comfort sucking has helped Joy out immensely.   That, cold stuff, and Tylenol in extreme breakdowns were the only things that helped.

If you get an Amber teething necklace in a correct size, they wouldn't be able to reach it up to their mouths.

however long the night, dawn will break.
