Moms of Toddlers--"Go away?"

DS will NOT stop telling everyone to go away..."Mommy go away, daddy go away..."

He told the preschool director to go away last week, but I attempted to cover for him and said he said "look this way."

Any suggestions on how to make it stop?  I'm now trying to ignore the comment  when he says it, but that approach isn't working.

Re: Moms of Toddlers--"Go away?"

  • DD went thru this stage, we couldn't do anything to stop it, so when she said it, I'd actually walk away looking sad, more often than not she wanted me to come back. But it will pass

  • We went through this, too...  We tried giving our daughter different words to say like "I want to be alone please".  Took awhile but she made progress and it was just another stage!  Hang in there!
  • LOL...I could have written this post! DS does the same thing - and inevitably minutes later, goes "Mommy come back!!" I'm hoping he'll outgrow it. When he does it to other people I just gently remind him that it isn't nice.
