When we were at the pedi last week she said that she's ok with him eating as few as 12 ounces of formula in a day as long as his overall appetite is good. Some days that's all he takes but normally it's more around 16-20.
As for table food, he eats practically anything (except for nuts and honey). He's not keen on beef right now but really, he tries almost anything we ever eat in the house.
Michael is eating anything he wants that is soft enough. Meats are more difficult because they take more chewing but he did have fish stick last night (and not the nasty minced fish kind either.) He is drinking less formula. I can not get him to understand how the sippy cup works yet. He just chews on it and grins at me.
His favorite foods are green beans, yogurt of any flavor, lima beans, broccoli, crackers, miso soup.

DS has been sick for the last week so if I can get him to eat anything I consider meal time a success! But for he past few weeks his formula amount has been decreasing, most days I am lucky to get 10 oz in him. I am going to put a call in to my pedi soon because I am concerned that he isn't getting enough each day, especially fluid wise. We are still working on using a sippy for water, but I can usually get a few sips in him with a regular cup.
As for food, it really depends on his mood. Some days he pushes the spoon away from me and spits out the food if I try to feed him a puree, so I give him finger foods. Other days, like today, he threw his food off his tray and would only eat purees. Most of the time he seems content to eat regular table food and I give him almost everything to try, but for some reason he prefers to be fed the regular food, not pick it up himself. But he is only ten months so I figure it's a start.
As PPs said, pretty much anything that is soft enough. Recently she's tried pasta, graham crackers, chili, and kiwi. I usually give her a little of what we're eating (if it's soft enough/age appropriate) at each meal.
DD is generally taking 24-30 oz of formula per day. We recently had to up it a bit because although she eats/drinks a ton throughout the day, she was having trouble gaining weight. To much crawling and walking around, I guess!
Table foods, she eats everything. Yesterday breakfast was an egg with a little cheese, watermelon, and a cereal bar; lunch she had a Tofurkey, cheese, and tomato sandwich with Veggie Booty and a pear, dinner was Mexican bean salad. Today we had breakfast at moms group so it was just Cheerios and applesauce, but she did eat a good portion of my oatmeal before we left :P
We're down to 3-4 nursing sessions. Her late afternoon nurse is sporadic, I think it will be the next one dropped. The other 3 are pretty non-negotiable still - right when she wakes up, before nap, and before bed. It was between 9.5 and 10 months that she suddenly was nursing a lot less.
She eats whatever we are eating (except nuts and honey). Some favorites are cheese, yogurt, toast, waffles, quesadillas, pasta and all fruits/veggies.
I don't know about oz but we're down to 3 nursing sessions now - after wake-up, after 2nd nap (this one is sketchy, she doesn't drink much) and before bed.
DD is very picky right now...breakfast is cereal, lunch is bagel with PB and some puree fruit (won't eat solid fruit), and dinner is usually something of what we're eating...if not she eats pasta, sweet potatoes, etc. I'm having a hard time varying her diet because she doesn't ingest a lot of the food, just throws it!
Formula is 4x's per day - approx. 26 oz per day
