We feed her at 8:00-9 sleeps around 10:30 than wakes up at 12am falls asleep around 2, she will get up for her 4am feeding the whole process for feeding to sleep is another 2 hours than sleeps from 6am-7am and then up and hungrey again? She is drinking 3 ounces and has acid reflux and seems fussy if I give her more formula so I don't think she can handle eating anymore I burp her 5 times throughout the bottle feeding and hold her upright after the feedings for 20 minutes. I'm so tired from the feedings and her not sleeping for more than 2 hours at a time when does this change? Should I be doing something else? I know she is still little but she was going longer between feedings a week ago. She has a long nap uaually for 3 hours in the afternoon, would this cause the non-sleeping at night?
Re: My 6 week old baby takes an hour to feed, normal?
I know that babies have a growth spurt at 3 and 6 weeks, and again at 3 and 6 months. It's possible she's having a growth spurt maybe which is causing the non-sleeping.
As far as taking an hour to feed, some babies are really lazy eaters. My DS is... very rarely he'll finish 2 oz in less than 15 minutes, but normally it's a really drawn out process. Often he's not full after the first 2 oz either, so we make him another... quite often our feedings are an hour long. He will usually fall asleep though, so at least I'm getting a bit more rest!!
Have you spoken to her doctor about it? Maybe she needs a different formula or they would have a better suggestion or answer for you.
