Elective Ultrasound?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if any of you were planning on doing an elective ultrasound before the 20 week to determine gender. I came across a place that does the 3D/4D ultrasounds and while I do not want either of those, they do offer the traditional 2D for 15 minutes to determine gender. Even if they couldn't determine gender, I think I would be happy just seeing the baby since we've only seen it once at 6 weeks. So, I guess I am just trying to see who is doing this and if you are having an elective ultrasound, where will you be doing it?

Oh, and I know there is debate with these 3D/4D ultrasound places (which is the reason I do not want it at all), but this place is the number one referred place by OB's in the area.

    I am actually getting one in 2 weeks, I will be 15 weeks then. I can't wait to find out the sex. I think we are getting the 3d/4d u/s.

    I get one at 16 weeks just to check on everything & then at 20 weeks to find out the sex. We pay for all ultrasounds in our plan so theoretically they are all "elective" for us. I am not going to do the 3D imaging.

    I am getting an elective ultrasound on May 5th when I will be 16w5d. I am just getting a 2d but a 3d/4d was offered. I am having it done at a pregnancy spa near my house called Becoming Mom. The ultrasound is performed by an RDMS sonographer. I had to give them the name and number of my OB when I made the appointment and I told my OB I was having the elective ultrasound. He was perfectly fine with it.

    Our 2nd U/s was scheduled for 18 weeks to determine gender. I'm excited for you to have another u/s! at 6week there probably wasn't much to see - it will be wonderful being able to see arms and legs and facial features :)

    We are having an elective a week from today to determine the sex.

    We are also having an elective ultrasound on May 7th to determine gender. I have had quite a few friends do this and the outcomes have all been positive. I couldn't wait until 20 weeks. We are also going to choose to get a 3d/4d one just to see what everything looks like in there. It is only a 15 dollar difference too :)

    I am having one at 16 weeks, 2D/3D/4D. Luckily the lady who is doing mine has 30+ years of ob sonography experience and since I am not getting the NT scan due to insurance changes she will be able to look at the baby's anatomy then. I used her with my daughter a couple years ago before the NT scan was recommended regularly and was very pleased, and you can't beat a 45 minute recorded session on dvd with unlimited pictures to take home...now I am just waiting on May 9th.

    Yup we are.. we are going possibly next Sat to get a gender sneek peek too.. :) I cant wait!

    We are getting one on May 7th. I will be 16w2d. Its only 25 bucks for a 20 minute session and we get some pictures to take home as well as the early gender prediction. It will definitely be nice to see LO in the 'inbetween' stages of waiting for our big u/s.
