I barely slept last night because of my 36 week appt. yesterday. OB said I am 1 cm dia. and not effaced at all but she is concerned about my BP and swelling. Took blood to get a baseline for possible pre-e even though my BP was 122/72. Still below the line, but it is steadily creeping up compared to what it used to be.
I want to deliver naturally when it's time for baby, no matter how tired of being pg I am. She was talking about the possibility of having to induce. Bedrest is not likely to help BP more than just "taking it easy" during the day and the only solution for pre-e is birth. I don't want to start interventions if they are not necessary, but I do want to keep baby and myself healthy, of course and I know if it is needed, I will be okay.
Just bummed and now I am even more worried about LO and birth and BP is probably getting worse from my new-found anxiety. I need to relax.
Re: suspect pre-e and induction
My BP was up this week too. Not sure where you live, but here it has finally gotten nice outside and I have been doing a lot of outdoor activities. Actually a lot more activity in general, I think it has caused some swelling and an increase in my BP. Doctor told me just to take it easy, drink LOTS of water and try to keep my feet up whenever possible. That was Monday, and i have to say that i feel much better today.

I went to the doctor yesterday and they finally decided to test me for pre e because my blood pressure has been border line the past now 3 visits and swelling has been AWFUL so I know exactly what you mean. Just as hard as this may sound try to relax as much as possible and not dwell on it to much so the baby doesnt get stressed out either. We all want healthy mamas and healthy babies
