Check-in

The death of my wonderful FIL (in his early sixties, way too young) has left a huge wound in all of us, but everyone is being so strong and sweet.  Rom's family is full of great people.  His poor mom is ill now, though, with a cold.  I think the strain of keeping her spirits up and "being strong" has taken its toll.  I'm going to make pioneer woman's chicken and dumplings tonight for her.  I hope it turns out okay.

It's a nice day today, so we might take Margaux to the beach to play.  She's been really good, even though she's cutting at least one more tooth.  Very charming, and she's picking up words like crazy.  She's eaten everything we have given her except the white part of hard-boiled eggs and cod.  She's not a fan of cod.

I've been trying not to feel too smug about how awesome she is, I know the "twos" will hit soon enough and things will probably change.

I'm up early-ish because Rom snores like... well, like something very, very loud.  I got tired of poking him to turn over so I just gave up.  I hope to catch up properly soon!
