That's just ridiculous! I got served an alcoholic drink by accident once, but I was 22! Good glory, the waiter must have been a little drunk too! That's just infuriating!
I wonder if the alcoholic mix was premixed in a pitcher and the waiter filled it himself rather than waiting for the bartender to get juice? In any event, that's just crazy!
Many bars store juice in "pour & store" containers, plain white containers with attachable pour spouts. Some chain restaurants make their most popular drinks in large batches and also store them in these containers. They are all supposed to be clearly labeled and stored in specific places. I wonder if this bar stores juices and drinks in this manner and the bartender poured from the wrong container. It's still not excusable but it would at least make sense.

This does make sense but still you would think they would be more careful with the alcoholic drinks.
2 years ago my husband and I were in St. Louis at an Applebee's with his 6 year old daugther. She ordered rootbeer and they brought her a bottle. After 1 sip she told us it didn't taste right, we looked at the bottle and it was alcoholic beer! We complained to the server who was very apologetic, but the manager was rude about it. Apparently the root beer and regular beers both come from the bar and got stocked in the wrong places! We were glad she only took 1 sip and made sure we didn't tell her mom about it when we dropped her back at home!
The more I think about it, I don't find this overly shocking when you think about how it could have been in similar containers... I mean yeah, they should keep the booze marked obviously, but I'm pretty sure everyone messes something up at their jobs now and then. I know I made my fair share of mistakes... So I don't know that it should be a super giant deal and I don't think the moms should be suing the restaurants or anything. Maybe a good idea is like someone said above - just check what your kid is drinking to make sure? But 2 cases out of how many zillions of kids ordering juice at zillions of restaurants every day? Probably not something to be too paranoid about.
Yeah, I don't see it as a huge shock. I can see how it happened. And, it's not like Olive Garden is notorious for this, it is one case.
Meg gets virgin pina coladas at a local Mexican restaurant. I had them when pregnant and she would share them with me. I do check those!
Love: 8/2000 | Marriage: 7/2005 | Baby makes three: 3/28/2007 | And one more makes...SIX?
Steal my kids picture or pretend they are yours, I will find where you live and ship all of their dirty diapers to your doorstep. Promise.
When my brother was 2 he drank an entire thermos of Harvey Wallbanger. My parents found out when he was acting super-drunk and then he passed out. They just kept checking his pulse (Mom's a nurse, Dad's a Paramedic). My brother is still proud of that.
At Christmas, G kept disappearing and we finally found out he was sneaking into the other living room and dipping and licking his fingers into my brother's Crown Royal glass he had left sitting on the table. He's definitely Irish!
Re: Toddler Served Alcohol at Restaurant!!!!! WTF.
My guess someone was drinking while on the job and it got mixed up.
This is not the first time something like this has happened. I always take a sip from each one of my kids cups to be cautious.

Reading the comments, a few mentioned that this happened at an Applebee's recently as well.
ETA: Apparently the Applebees incident was here in MI. I never watch the local news so I missed this.
