reflux and spit ups... need suggestions!

When we lay him flat, my son gets reflux and eventually spits up.  This only happens at night in his crib since for daytime naps he's in his bouncy seat, swing, carseat or his PNP napper.(all of these elevate his head).   Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this at night?  Or is there a safe way to elevate his head to prevent the reflux?  Could we put him in his bouncy seat all night?  What have u done?

  • Emilie usually spits up every night at least a little bit. You can elevate the crib mattress a little bit. We usually just keep a large receiving blanket laying on top the crib sheet and then tucked on the sides so when she does spit up I'm just changing the blanket. We do a lot of wash, but there's not much you can do really.

  • Do you lay him flat right away after feeding him at night? I try to keep her upright for a while before putting her down. I'm going to have to try elevating the mattress though.

  • We had this problem with DD.  After one night of her sleeping in her bouncer in her crib, I went out and bought a FP Rock n Play and she's been sleeping great in that ever since.  It keeps her at an upright angle and seems to keep her reflux in check, plus I think she likes that it cradles her closer than her crib (she's a little peanut).  Highly recommend it.
