I've been off the pill for a month now, and charting my temps, and it doesn't look like I'm going to be ovulating any time soon.
Nora is nursing 5x/day and eating solids 3x/day. She nurses anywhere from 40 minutes (morning and night) to 15 minutes (during the day). She sleeps through the night without nursing.
I've ready on kellymom to try to change up nursing to restart fertility. I've been adding in solids and stretching time between nursing for the past month and nothing is changing.
I guess I can try to drop another nursing session... is this a bad idea? We are EBFing, no formula, and I want to keep it that way.
Any other suggestions? Anyone want to tell me their story of getting pregnant while nursing?
I really want this to happen between now and August, when Nora will be 11 months, because my OB doesn't want me to be pregnant in the summer, so after August I'll probably have to go on BC until next March or so. However, I'm not willing to wean and switch to formula.
Re: TTC while BFing
Married to my BFF on 8.13.05 (after dating 5 years)!
DS born 2.14.08. DD born 9.30.09.
AF came back for me at 7 months PP with DS2, we TTC when he was 12 months old (right after his birthday) at that time he was still EBF and we had only just started introducing a sippy cup first of BM then we tried dairy followed by soy and finally rice milk because of allergy issues. We conceived on our 2nd cycle and I went by my FF chart but didn't temp, we figured when I was probably O'ing and just went with that. DS2 was feeding every 3 hours and slept 12 hours through the night at that point.

Can't really help either- I was 15 weeks postpartum and EBF only when I got pregnant this time. I never even had a period.
From what I read online though it seems like the more solids/alternatives to BF you do the more likely your cycle starts up. It sounds like you are already on top of that- but best of luck!!!
I got pregnant with Lila while nursing Charlotte, and I would agree with what kellymom said about restarting fertility. It happened for me just as she was starting to eat solids on a regular basis and cutting back on nursing, however, she cut back on her own. I wouldn't say that having her drop a nursing session is a bad idea and you can always see how it goes, but obviously BM should be her main source of nutrition for now and I wouldn't try to push it too much. I would still feed on demand and follow her cues. If it doesn't seem that she's ready to drop a nursing session, I bet it will happen on its own in the near future anyway. Charlotte did this between 10-12 months and I got pregnant again 2 weeks before her 1st birthday.
