crib sleeping ?

if DC sleeps in crib do you use bumpers, no bumpers or breathable bumpers? DD takes naps in crib and i use no bumpers now and it doesn't seem to be an issue but at night when she sleeps sometimes she moves around a lot. I am thinking of transitioning her to the crib this coming week and just wondering what everyone else does. thanks!

Re: crib sleeping ?

  •  my Ds has slept in the crib from day one and we use the bumper.  in the beginning he didn't move.  Now he does wiggle but usually straight up the crib we just put him in to one end so he has the whole length to wiggle.  A few times we found him close to the side and would move him over, but we check on him through the night. (My dh is a light sleeper so he is up all the time.)  If I kept finding him there i would have taken it out but he hasn't done it again.  He also has slept on his tummy since 2 months because it is the only way he slept more than 1 1/2 hours at a time- his startle reflex was horrible and wakes him up on his back still...

  • I transitioned DS to the crib at 4mos and I use the bumper. Like the pp, my son likes to wiggle up the crib so I just lay him down on the one end. He can turn himself in the crib (lay him one direction and I've found him perpendicular). He has never wiggled close to the sides. If he did, I would just move him.

  • a breathable one...I'm glad too...two nights into the transition she had her head against the crib bumper by morning!
