It doesnt feel real yet...

in 1st Trimester
We found out that i was pregnant 2 weeks ago and im now 10 weeks. But it doesnt feel real. I had my first OB appt today but we didnt look at the baby or hear a heartbeat or anything. They just ran my lab work. When does it usually sink in? I feel like i wont believe im pregnant till i hear the heartbeat :( **bad day for me**

    Are you sure you are 10 weeks?  I would think they would have done an ultrasound.

    My OB dosen't do an ultrasound until you find out the sex. Some are old school and don't.  I completly understand what your saying, but once you hear the heartbeats, and start to feel their little flutters, you will :) Oh, And the bump is a good way to! lol It will come! Promise!

    My doc doesn't do sonograms until 20 weeks, but I would think they would have tried to listen to the heartbeat!

    A lot of people only get an u/s at 20 weeks so this isn't abnormal.  I'm sure the doc pushed around on her belly to feel her uterus.

    My Doc didn't even try to find the heartbeat until I was 12 weeks last time.  If you want to look for the heartbeat on your own you can get order a doppler for the house. 

    It doesn't feel real to me yet either.  You're much further along than I am but I know what you mean.  With my DD I had m/s and was exhausted all the time so it felt real.  When you start showing and/or when you start feeling the baby kick, that's when it feels really real.

    i only get an unltrasound at twenty weeks. but i would think they would try to listen to the heartbeat

    Oh yeah im 10 weeks. my *tmi* lmc started Feb 4. I called the doctor and the nurse said my doctor likes to wait till atleast 13-14 weeks to try and hear a heartbeat just incase we arent exactly 10 weeks

    thats what i thought too!! I was so excited and almost cried when they didnt! (Mind you i am a little weepy this week.. no big shocker there) But the informed me that they wait till 14-16 weeks because sometimes you arent 10 wekks when you first come in and they just want to make sure there is really going to be a heartbeat for us to hear.

    i had an u/s to confirm how far along i was and they saw the heartbeat (but the tech woulden't let me hearSad )and said everything was fine but i still have no symptoms of being PG except tiredness and a little wait gain. it still doesn't seem real to me yet either maybe once i hear the heartbeat!!

    Oh wow! I wish I was that far along I wouldn't be as nervous these upcoming weeks.  It's still sinking in to me though, sometimes I have to keep reminding myself that I am pregnant.  I had my lab work ran yesterday and I have my first ultrasound in 12 days...yes I have a countdown I'm so excited! :0) Congrats on your precious LO!

    We heard the heartbeat at 6w5d, and even after that it STILL doesn't seem real! Every doctor is really different, I have already had 3 ultrasounds (tomorrow will be my 4th).  I think in the back of my mind I am still worried that something could happen so maybe that's why it doesn't feel quite real? I am hoping that it hits me soon!!

    I'm right there with you! It doesn't feel real to me yet either, despite the constant nausea! I don't get an u/s for another 2 weeks! Hopefully this feeling of unreality will change-for me AND my DH. I'm pretty sure he's in denial! (I was told I'd have fertility probs, but we got preg. right away)

    THats why it doesnt feel real for me! I was told it would be very very difficult for me to get pregnant and it didnt even take a month! And that was without any kind of treatment! You will get yours 2 weeks before me! Gotta let me know how it goes! my DH is soo nervous and i dont think he thinks its real yet either!
