So, I've read that BF'd babies don't necessarily increase their intake in terms of ounces b/c the properties of bm change to the baby's needs, unlike formula. So, how many ounces of BM does your 2 to 3 mo old baby take? I'm trying to figure things out for daycare. Right now, she's just doing 1 bottle a day so I don't really know.
I was thinking of doing 5 bottles with 3.5 oz each for 9 hours in daycare. Does this sound good? In my mind, this is accounting for having some extra as well.
Re: BF'd babies... how many ounces?
this may help...

Yep! Better to be safe than sorry. If I ever have any leftover, I just freeze it for emergencies.
when I pump I pump out 4 oz, so I figured that must be what he drinks during a normal feeding. That's what we give him when we give a bottle and he's happy and satisfied afterwards so I guess it's right!
babies should drink at least 24 oz per 24 hr period, so divide that by the number of feedsing your LO takes by breast and you should have a good number.
our little one goes to take dc with four-3oz bottles which she typically finishes well. initally we had tried 4-4oz and she could never finish them in one sitting and the DC was always trying to get her to finish them in their 2 hour window. their policy is once they start a bottle then need to finish it within 2 hours or it's tossed. I definately didn't want precious BM tossed especially since I'm barely keeping up with her. She's at dc ~9 hours. Some days she only needs 3 of the bottles just depends-also depends if we're going straight home to nurse vs need to run errands etc.
Just today I'm bumping her to 2-3.5 oz and 2-3 oz and see how she does finishing them.
