"did i just pee myself...or did my water just break?"

anyone need to ask themselves this question yet?

10pm last night i was sitting here on my chair and i needed to get up to go pee.  well...as soon as i stood up and took a few steps i started "peeing myself".  like more than just a little squirt (which has happened before).  i ran to the toilet and went - and noticed my little liner was totally soaked.

i smelled it - cause that's what your supposed to do...right? ew..LOL.  and it definitely had an odor - but i've been drinking so much my pee is clear and doesn't really smell like pee.  i called my L&d nurse/friend.  and she said it's hard to say...that both are definitely possible at this stage.  i wasn't having any more ctx than normal and i moved around and stood up and down to see if it would do it again.  it didn't.  i ended up showering and going to bed.  and woke up today to a dry liner.

soooo... i'm about to call my dr - as soon as her office opens.  but i'mthinking i just peed myself!  gosh. 

has this happened to anyone else?

    Yes, but I ended up heading to L&D to check it out...mine was more of a constant leaking over the period of 3 hours, and same thing, totally clear, so we went in...only to find out that, yup, it was just pee.  It was not my finest hour :)

    My dr told me yesterday at our appt that it is very possible to pee yourself. He said the difference is that if it's your water breaking, you'll be continuously leaking- he compared it to running around carrying a bowl full of water and that it keeps spilling- whereas pee, you'll run out of it i guess... lol

    Oh goodness yes!!  My newly found lack of bladder control is just depressing to me at time.  The worst is when it happens as I'm on my way out of the bathroom after having just peed!  DH says he can always tell when it happens because my face is priceless (that whole defeated and embarrassed look overcomes my face).  Poise liners have become by new BFF....regular pantiliners just aren't cutting the mustard these days!

    Probably pee but better to call. Sometimes this is gross..but when that happens it doesn't smell but then after it dries it smells more like pee then when wet. I would call just to be safe

    I read a similar post in 3rd Tri a month or so back.

    Funny part was she is a 2nd time mom and is currently potty training her toddler. When she sneezed and pee'd herself the toddler told her, "It's okay mommy, we all have accidents sometimes."

    I'm NOT looking forward to this happening to me!  I have, however, pee'd all over myself when I sneeze, cough or laugh too hard!  Gotta love it!

    With my first I did this, and thought it was my water so we went to L&D.  It didn't have a smell and was clear but it was just pee.  I was so embrassed, thankfully I had talked Hubs into not calling anyone until we knew for sure if it was my water or just pee.  We never told anyone in his family or mine that we had went.  When my water did break I just knew though- I heard a pop and started leaking. 

    I will say this- I have peed myself three time with this baby and I am sure I will some more before she gets here.  Kinda sad and it does upset me everytime but I have just come to accept it.

    Let us know what the Dr says.
