Hi Ladies... three more weeks until I officially become a Detroit resident!!!
I wanted to ask you all for some recommendations. We'll be living in the Canton area for the next year and then either staying there or moving more north possibly?
We need to find the following:
Pediatrician
ENT
Primary for me and dh
OB
Dentist- adult and pediatric or just someone that is good for both
Possibly an allergist too- for baby?
Thanks for any help ladies!!!
Re: Dr Recommendations needed, please?
I can only recommend the Dentist for you and baby -
Dr. Mortiere. 5958 Canton Center Road, Canton MI 734-459-1950
Love him and his staff.
Stay away from Dr. Kolderman (south side of Canton). He likes to pad his pockets by recommending/performing procedures that aren't necessary!
My OB is Dr. Davies with IHA in Canton. All the doctors in that office are great - IMO, you couldn't go wrong there. Here's their site:

Other than that, I don't really have an awesome recommendation for any of the others you are requesting.
Good luck with your move!
ETA : to mention that Dr. Davies tends to run behind a lot - though she is great so I put up with it!

DEFINITELY second IHA Canton!!! I had Dr. Eaton-MacFarland but they're all really, really good!! I had major complications with my pregnancy that became life threatening and I wouldn't have trusted anyone else with my life or my son's life but the doctors there. Dr. Merkel is the only male OB there but he's WONDERFUL as well.
I recently moved to Michigan (last September) and tried two other OB's and IHA absolutely blew me away.
We also bring my son to the IHA Pediatrics office that's just down the hall from the OBGYN. We see Dr. Randall and they're wonderful as well. Again, we had a different ped. from the get-go and Dr. Randall's office is 100X better. The office is so friendly and the docs are knowledgable and don't make you feel stupid for asking questions.
For a primary we see Dr. Carol King at IHA as well. LOL, are you sensing a trend here? I've only seen her once but the office is very nice.
Welcome to Michigan!! My husband is originally from Buffalo actually and me from Syracuse!
Thank you ladies! I keep hearing about this IHA so I guess I should absolutely check this out!
We're both from Rochester originally but I have made home here in Buffalo for 14 years now (wow! I can't believe it's been that long since I moved here for school!) I used to spend summers near Syracuse growing up.
Getting back to it- my diet and exercise blog
Losing it...Without Losing it
A little late here, but I just wanted to add my recommendation for IHA as well
I go to Canton Obstetrics, and all of their doctors have been amazing.
Our pediatrician is with Primary Pediatrics in Ann Arbor (also IHA) and I can't say enough good things about their doctors and office staff... we've been there more than I would have liked this winter and they have been wonderful to DD (and me
) And I'm usually able to get in with DD's primary doctor which is nice, since I don't have to explain everything again to someone else.
