Rec. your sippy cups

I have gone through 6 or 7 different types of sippy cups.  After a few uses they all leak - a lot.  I hand wash, so they're not exposed to high heat.  We have some with straws and some without.  It doesn't seem to matter.  They're leaking from the seal and/or the mouth part.

If you have used your sippy cups for MORE than a month and they are still not leaking, what type are you using?

TIA

  • We use the playtex straw cups and have no problem with leaking unless we fill them too high.  I've also had no problem with Avent.

  • The cheap-o Take n' Toss ones. They rarely leak, even when thrown and they all have been washed the dishwasher 2 or 3 times a week for 6 or so months now.  I think we have maybe thrown out 2 in the past that cracked.

  • I've had great success with no leakage ever from the Nuk.  I also like the Playtex, however, if it's too full then it will dribble when it's on its side.

  • I use the Take & Toss cups too (straw & spout) and haven't had any leaks. I've only had to throw one out that DH got caught in the garbage disposal somehow.

This. I almost always wash mine in the dishwasher. I could never get DS to use any other type of sippy. He always would have to suck to hard to get anything out so he never realized that there was stuff in it, he would just throw them. With the take n toss, they can drip/leak a little and so he knew that there was stuff in the cup and took to them right away. We have a few issues with leaking here and there but it isn't too bad and they give you a "lid" type thing to snap on to them so you can take them with you and not worry about leaking. i would recommend these 100%. Plus they are so cheap that even if you bought a set(I think you get 5-6 for a little less than $4), and you didn't like them, they won't break the bank!

  • The take and toss like others have said have been fairly leak proof but we do seem to get some drips from the spout.

The Nuby brand has been our favorite. RIght now we have been using the starter silicone spouts but I am transitioning her to the kind that they drink from like a regular tumbler. I've had more issues with the starter Nuby's creating such back suction that LO gives up trying to drink anything (her nose covered the little air hole so she started drinking from them upside down). But these insulated cup style seem to be eliminating that problem for us and LO is back to holding and drinking the cup appropriately. Both styles I have had for over a month and they have gone through the dishwasher multiple times with no problems.

  • I use the Nuby ones and have never had a problem.

  • We use the Nuby no-spill flip-it straw cups: mega for water and insulated for milk.

  • Nuk Learner Cup with the Silicone Spout! Never Leaks and LO took to it right away... then got the Nuk Activity cup, my only complaint about those are that you can't see how much is in it.

  • Playtex First Sipsters have never leaked for us. They will drip a bit from the spout if left on their side for a long period of time, but I have put a water-filled one in the diaper bag and carried it around for hours with no leaks.

Take and Toss don't leak, just drip a little as well, unless DD throws them on the floor. Then the lids tend to pop off and I end up having to mop :(

  • We use the Nuby ones.  It looks just like a bottle but it flows faster and the nipple is cut flat at the top.  They sell them at Walmart and ebay.

I agree with the playtex straw cups. Those are the only ones we have that don't leak. DS took some getting used to them becuase of the straw and not sippy nature of them but now he doesn't mind them.

  • I have a Munchkin Trainer sippy cup (it has handles). It's the only sippy cup my daughter uses. It's been great, especially since I only have the one cup. No leaks at all despite being washed multiple times a day.

  • Playtex Sipster and Insulator sippy cups. Love them. Been using them about two months and no leaks so far.

  • The Tommee Tippie ones are my favorite.  We used the older playtex ones with DS1, and I really liked them, but they changed them a bit.  The Tommee Tippee ones are much easier for him to sip from without as much sucking pressure, yet they truly don't spill out.  Definitely recommend them.
