July 2011 Moms

Will you miss being pregnant?

I was lurking on TTGP today for old times sake and omg there are December mamas already! It makes sense but I can't believe we are all almost less than 3 months away from meeting our babies. It feels like yesterday I found out I was pregnant. I feel so lucky that I am where I am today and remember last year at this time when we were still TTC and hoping I would be a December 2010 Mama, then a January 2011 and so on...

Anyways, it got me thinking about how FAST time is going and how I am enjoying being pregnant so much. I will for sure miss it. I can't wait to meet my baby, but I could be pregnant forever I feel like right now! LOL

What about you ladies?!

No, I will not miss it one bit! I am getting my tubes tied and I can't wait. All 3 of my PG's have had "issues," but this one has been the worst (I have been on bedrest for 12 weeks...). I cannot wait to be done. I have also had 3 m/c's and dealt with IF, so I have a lot of anxiety during PG's.

  • I'm beyond excited to meet LO, but nope, I'm not going to miss being pregnant. The only part of it I really like is feeling her move. The rest, I'm OVER! Stick out tongue
  • Feeling the movement is amazing and rubbing my belly is kind of fun, but I am certainly looking forward to having my normal body back.

  • I'll miss being able to feel his kicks, but in general I won't miss it.  It has been a pretty rough road with only the last few weeks really being normal worry level.   I will be happy to be able to worry about myself and him separately.

  • Nope, nothing.

I've had a great pregnancy too.  But really, I am just not a fan.  I want the end result.  I may even do it again.  But I won't miss it.

  • I am enjoying being pregnant, I've been very lucky to have felt pretty good and had no issues.  I'll miss it, but I'm more excited about meeting our boy.  It'll also be nice to move normally again--rolling over in bed is kind of a chore.

  • I'll probably have phantom flutters & kicks like I did after DD (and find myself still sleeping with my hand on my belly) but won't miss it much. Except to know I'm done for good.

  • I don't think I can answer that for sure until I am not pregnant.  For now, I love feeling the baby and the whole process, and I am even enjoying how I am nesting.

This is exactly how I feel. I will miss feeling him kick and it has been fun watching my belly grow. However, it's been pretty miserable overall and I'm ready to meet my LO and go back to my "normal" body.

  • I don't think I'll miss it. It hasn't been as enjoyable as I thought it would be. I've never felt so out of control in regards to my body. Additionally, I will not miss the rib and back pain that I've been experiencing since the day I got my BFP.

  • i have been feeling this way too! for me, after experiencing a m/c in august of last year, the first 12 weeks were kinda slow. i just couldn't wait to get to the next appointment, the next stage, the next size up in pants, finding out the sex... the whole thing seemed so far away.

now that i'm 25 weeks, and i say out loud "15 weeks left" i'm blown away. these past 10 weeks have gone so fast!

I LOVE being pregnant. with the m/s, the rib pain, the tiredness and anything else i'll experience i know i love being pregnant. feeling that baby kick inside me is priceless. i'm a planner, and this is the biggest event we get to plan for! it's so fun to count down the weeks and days, knowing what we need to get done next, checking off our list one by one.

that being said, i can't wait for baby to get here. i picture myself strolling around the city with the baby, or taking him to the park when he's 3. as much as i love my belly, i'm sure i'll prefer the diaper bag on my shoulder ;)

I agree with this word for word. My pregnancy has been easy and free from major problems (knock on wood) but I wouldn't say it's "fun" and I'm positive I won't miss it. I always wanted babies, but actually being pregnant was never appealing to me. I know, I probably sound horrible, but that's how it is for me. I'm glad there are women out there who love it, but I'm not one of them!

  • I really, really missed being pregnant after having DD and since we are done after this one I'm sure it will be even stronger this time.  I absolutely loved the newborn phase with her, but I truly do love being pregnant.

  • The only thing I missed after having DS was the special bond of feeling him kick, it is the most amazing feeling ever.
  • Hell to the no. I'm selfish. I want my body back.

  • I'm sure i will miss it. Right now I'm not very comfortable, but I still think it's pretty awesome. I truly missed it after DD was born, but last PG I was way more comfortable for the most part. I wonder if I'll miss it quite as much as I did last time.??

  • I'm looking forward to getting my body back and feeling more like myself but yes, I think I'll miss being pregnant. I've been fortunate enough to have a good, uneventful pregnancy so I'm sure that helps :). I'll miss being so close to LO and feeling him/her wiggle and kick. Can't wait to meet our LO though!
  • Yes, I think I will...due in part to how hard I worked on my health to even get here! But that just means I will be ready for baby #2 & a possible #3 down the road! Wink
  • I missed it a bit after DS was born and I'm sure I will again (even more so since this is probably our last). I've been really lucky and had no m/s or major issues, so far. So I won't miss all of it but I will miss the feeling of my baby kicking and all that. It's kind of like always having a buddy with you!
  • Meh. There's parts of it I love, but I fought so hard to get this far that I just want to meet my baby and move on with life so to speak. (I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just that I've waited a long time for a healthy baby already).
  • There are aspects I'll miss - like feeling LO's kicks greeting me in the morning. But overall I don't think so. While I've enjoyed being pregnant and look forward to doing it again for future children, I'm really looking forward to having our son out of my body.

Not just so I can see him and all that good stuff, but also because I am looking forward to not always being so mindful of what I'm eating/doing. I'm a fairly active/independent person so I don't care for how pregnancy is limiting in some ways. Even though it's been relatively easy, I still find myself tired easily and it's hard to do some things like bend over! It will be nice to lose the restrictions of the big belly (and go more than 2 hrs without needing to pee).

  • I will definitely miss being pregnant.  I won't miss the heartburn or the peeing 12 times a night, but otherwise I will miss it.

I have loved being pregnant each time.  This is very likely our last pregnancy and I am going to miss it!

  • Honestly no and I've had a relatively easy pregnancy.  I am ready to have my body back, I kinda feel like a walking incubator right now.  I hate going to the dr and having blood drawn, and I am currently on pelvic rest, which has just been AWESOME - ugh!

    THIS, THIS, THIS!

  • I will miss feeling my little girl move inside me, and I think I will miss the feeling that I am the thing standing between her and the "big, bad world", like I can totally protect her.

That said, I won't miss the dizzy spells, the swollen feet, the achy back, etc...

I'm 28 weeks today, if I go to the day my OB will induce me that's 11weeks away!!! Just under that 3 month mark!

Will I miss being pregnant? Not for a while. We want a 2nd child, but I get a year off of being pregnant. I've been pregnant more or less for the last year and a half. I need a break. The novelty is wearing off on me right now. Though I love my LO and can't wait until I can see him/her, but it'll take me awhile to want to be pregnant again.

Perfect!!  I will definitely miss the movements and carrying her around inside me...

Won't miss all of the scares, feeling like crap, heartburn, bloody noses, m/s, crazy discharge, hormones, leg cramps, etc.

I had to quote you as a fellow high risker.

I had a bunch of issues with DS but still missed being pregnant. (A slipped disk around 20 weeks, trouble breathing in the 2nd tri, the preterm labor, kidney stones, gestational diabetes, PROM and it all ended with an emergency c-section at 35 weeks where the epidural did not take and I had to be put under.)

Somehow I still missed the kicks and belly.

This time the contractions have started earlier and I have to get a shot every 5 days now and all I do is worry, I can't enjoy being pregnant much. So it is not that I will miss this pregnancy but be sad that I never got to have a care free one.

I might miss it a little, but I am planning on an iud for the next few years while I decide if I am done for sure.

  • Not.one.bit!!! I'm not a fan of being pregnant... but I will take it and I will definitely do it again because for the end result~ it's totally worth it! Big Smile
