Those that have done digital photo books

How have you chosen which photos to put in it? I started one - "Coop's First year" than has been neglected for far too long so I am just getting back in to it. Trouble is that I just don't know which photos to use. Did you do month by month or just do random photos?

Thanks!

Re: Those that have done digital photo books

  • I take a pictures of DS once a month with a certain doggie rocking "horse" he got from Grandpa before he was born.  It is fun to see how he has changed in relation to the dog.  I also add random pictures from around the same time.  I use what pictures make sense for you.  Good luck!

  • I've pretty much done them chronologically and had a page or two per month, plus extra pages for special events, holidays, birthdays, etc...

This. I also had my maternity photos and things we did while PG (trips, etc) as well as few pages of the # month onesies photos with stats when I had them...
  • I actually did a scrapbook for Ben's first year and will do one for Cooper sometime... (sigh)...  I did more than one page per month for that first year - I just couldn't cut down more.  But I still did it by month.   By the second and third years though, it was easy to do monthly.

This, except I am completely OCD about this (and I have too many great photos), so I have six scrapbooks for Max's first year. I know it's obscene! For my parents and DH's family, I did Shutterfly books. I did it by month, choosing my favorite shots from each month. It is really great to watch him grow throughout the pages.

  • I'm through month 9 or so, but I really need to go back and edit because it's already more than 200 pages!  That is SO not okay.  I think I might need to break it into 4 month chunks or something.
  • I really need to do this for the girls too!  What vendors have you all used for this?  I've seen Shutterfly, Picaboo and others but I'm wondering what you guys' have liked.  I want nice quality and easy to use online software but also don't want to pay a fortune.

Okay this is me too! I am now up to month 3 and I have done 90 pages!!! I think I might need to do 0-6 months then 0-12 months so the photo book isn't the size of an encyclopedia!!!!

I have used blurb.com for my last few books and have been really impressed with the finished product!
