The other night, DS attempted to climb out of his crib but was unsuccessful. Then, after naptime yesterday there was success luckily I was there to catch him.
His crib is a convertable crib, but we didn't want to convert it just yet. So instead we put a twin bed on the ground in his room. I set him up with everything and added some of his usual sleeping items (Crib Comforter, Blankie, etc.) It took him almost an hour to get him down (we tried sleeping with him, stories, etc....and he was in histerics if we left the room. I felt sick to my stomach. After he went to sleep, he rolled in his sleep (as he usually does) and rolled on the floor which woke him up, where he realized he was alone in his room again. After about 20m of trying to get him down, I put him in his crib.
What is the best way to transition him safely and without feeling horrible as a mom? I don't like the idea of a tent personally, but I want him to have an easy transition.
What have you done to help your LO with the transition? What security items are in place so that they don't hurt themselves during the transition? How long did it take?
