Are they never appropriate? I always thought they were acceptable under a certain age. 6, maybe? Your thoughts.

    You should make a clicky about jorts for the whole board!  I personally never find them acceptable.

    I got DS some shorts at Gymboree that are cargo shorts made of a dark denim/chambrey material.  I think that they may be closer to jorts than I am comfortable with... but they don't look like this.

    I hate jorts.  Jorts are evil.  I think jorts kill kittens.

    The boys have khaki shorts and madras shorts they will wear during the summer.

    As long as they aren't jean material, I am down with all other forms of shorts. I dunno, something about jean shorts screams fanny pack sporting dad at an amusement park to me.

    I don't wear shorts ( I think I own like 2 pairs total), but Mia wears them all the time. I never knew this was a faux pas.

    This made me LOL.  My dad is so far from this, but I just can't picture him in cargo shorts or khakis.  But on the other hand I can't see my husband in jean shorts.  I'm indifferent on the subject.

    Just butting in to say that I think they are fine. My H and DS1 both wear them. I had no idea that there was such an anti-jort movement.

    Also, the wang reference made me think of the episode of Friends where Phoebe's bf wears short shorts

    My father is the king of shorts. Be they jorts, korts, or any other kind of material-orts. The man will wear swimming trunks basically anywhere.

    He also is a huge fan of ugly mandals. I think the 2 are related.
