Looking for feedback from you guys and hoping to get more of a community on here...

 

Please let us know where you are in OK, how far along you are, what you're having if you know yet, best tip for moms to be in OK and what ever else is on you mind.  Please I want to hear from you!

     I'm in umm, Edmond, 10 weeks, 5 days, have no idea what we're having but we are finding out as soon as we can, I have no tips as I'm so early but I'm really looking for advise from other local moms when it comes to daycare choices, would love an in home daycare and I'm even thinking about a nanny, but so not sure just yet.  What else - we haven't told anyone we're expecting yet so I'm super excited - next week we tell our parents.

    I agree! :) I live in Shawnee, recently moved from Oklahoma City. According to my lmp I am a little over 7 weeks. I have my first Dr Appt tomorrow, so I'm torn between excited and nervous. I have a 5 yrs old, he has a 3 year old, together we have a 6 month old plus this newbie which will give us 2u2. We haven't told anyone yet, I'm not sure if I want to wait until the dr confirms it or if I'm afraid something will happen, or I also think part of it is because we weren't planning on having another one so quickly...anyways, it would be great if we could get some more Oklahoma moms on here!! Congrats to everyone and I hope all is going well!

    Hi! I just realized that there are local boards on the bump!  I'm in Enid, at Vance AFB.  I'm 5 weeks  days today.  It's all still very new to me!  Looking forward to joining in!

    Yay!  Activity on the board! 

    I'm in Norman, OK.  I'm 37 weeks, 2 days today...so any day now!  We're having a boy and this is our first child...so excited!  I don't really have any advice yet but another mom told me about the store Once Upon a Child in south OKC.  They have used Bjorns for $35!  I definitely plan on going there to buy one.

    Hey everyone!!! Im in Tulsa, I am 23 weeks pregnant with a boy!!! so excited. Since I already have a 3 year old girl! um....my tip for moms to be would have to be you are never truly prepared so dont panic if you go into labor and the nursry is not ready to bring baby home!!! Im looking forward to meeting some other Tulsa moms.

    I'm from Norman. We just found out I am about 4.5 weeks pregnant (super early). I am sure I will ask everyone a million questions soon about birth centers and daycare.

    26 weeks. OKC. I don't know what I am having, and he does. (This is my 4th Child...his first. He wanted to know, I didn't)

    We raise my 6 year old son together (I have an angel baby that would be 12 on the 27th of this month, and a 13 yo that has lived with her grandma since she was 2-when her brother passed away)

    I am excited....but not in a big rush to be done with this pregnancy...as we are going to be rushing to get everything we need! So glad it's "yard sale" season!

     I'm a regular on the July 2011 board. I always forget we have a local!

    I'm in Tulsa.  I'm a new mommy to my DD.  She is our first.  Not sure right now if we'll have another or not.  But I am totally loving her current stage of smiles, giggles, and snuggles!

    I'm a little late in posting, but I had DD in January and she has been more fun than anything I could have imagined. The best tip for moms to be would be to not get scared by all the stuff the doctors say. I ended up having a c-section at 38 weeks because they scared me into being induced and my body and DD weren't ready yet so it resulted in a c-section. I wish I would have waited.

    I am glad that DD is here and healthy though. She is a blessing for sure, even when she wakes me up at 2 am :) Her smiles and little coo's make it all worth it. Also, I don't know if she relates it to me yet but she is saying mama already!

    I am new to the bump and this board, but excited to hear everyone's advice and opinions.  My name is Rachael, I live in Tulsa.  We just found out we are expecting our first baby in January so I am just four weeks along.  We are so excited!  I am a little nervous and ready to be in the second trimester, but so far everything has been great and I am feeling great.  Looking forward to talking to you all on here!  Congratulations and happy Mother's Day!

    I'm from Enid, I'm a SAHM and I'm BFing (which I really love).  DS is just over 6 mo. and STTN YAYYYYY!  I'm so glad people are trying to get this going.  Congrats to all of you ladies!  And GO THUNDER!

    I'm NW OKC but we're currently trying to sell our house and move to a nearby suburb of OKC.

    I have a 2.5 year old and expecting #2 in early August!

    My best tip is... there is a lot more activity on the Oklahoma Nest board and lots of moms over there too :)

    Hi Rachael,

     I live in Tulsa, too and this is our first baby and we're also expecting in January. Not sure we can swap much advice since this is our first time but def can walk each other through the steps. I hear ya about the 2nd trimester.... have  you all told anyone or everyone yet?

    I am a first time mom living in OKC. I had my baby girl Chloe on March 15th, 2011! I was in labor for 17 hours, ending with a csection. It never got very painful as I had an epidural. My best tip for any expecting mom is don't induce if there isn't a good medical reason!!! Just wait it out until your body is ready. I was induced ( I had low amniotic fluid so I really didn't have a choice) but my body wasn't ready and I ended up with a csection. I know inductions work great for people all the time, but I feel like if I could do it all over again I definitely wouldn't induce! : ) Oh and also wait as long as they will let you to get the epidural. I got mine way too early ( not even 3 cm yet ) just because they offered it. I was afraid of the pain that was coming. I think that is another reason I didn't progress. Good luck to all expecting moms here in OK...

    I'm in Muskogee as of a year ago, transplanted from Evergreen, CO but grew up in upstate NY. I have a 6 week old and a 2 year old both boys. My 6 week old was born at home Big Smile

    My tip, in response to the mention of used $35 bjorns is to not use a bjorn baby carrier or anything else in that style. They will hurt your back and they also do not support babies that well. You can get a safe and more comfortable carrier for the same price. I recommend a wrap!

    Hi, I am in Mustang and my DH and I are about to start TTC. We are excited, but I'm trying to keep my anxiousness under control! :)
