Still considering our options for DD and MDO programs in the fall. I'm trying to get a grasp on what is a competitive tuition rate & what is "expensive." If your kiddo(s) is/are/going to be in MDO, approximately how much is it per day?
(If you would rather not post online, you're welcome to PM or email me: mrsmillertime at gmail)
Thanks!
Re: non-clicky poll: how much is MDO?
We pay $93/month, per kid. For one freaking day. INSANE.
This fall, they'll be going T/TH and it's $151/month, per kid. GAH!
Of course, we're in NB, but I think comparatively, we're higher or some such crap. Blah.
ours was 150 a month for 2 days.
We pay $325/mo for two days, 8:30-1. Personally, I feel like it's really low for what they offer and I would pay quite a bit more. It's more of PT preschool than MDO though, which I consider to be more like PT daycare.
It's also not located in/affiliated with a church; I would not send DD to a church based MDO unless maybe it was in a UU church.
Ben goes M-F right now and we pay $575/mo. He'll drop back to MWF in August which costs $350/mo. Molly will be starting August also and because she is still an infant she's a little more expensive at $380/mo for MWF.
ETA: The school day is 9:00 - 2:30PM and we get a 10% sibling discount. Molly's rate w/ discount is $342.
Meredith attends a church-based academic preschool that we LOVE. She goes M-F 9 - noon, and we pay $340 a month. They have toddler programs too, but I am not going to send Alex until Fall 2012. With a November birthday, he misses the cutoff date, so I see no reason to send him a year early.
Last year Meredith attended a different church-based preschool that was less academically rigorous, but we were very happy there before the director retired. We paid $166 for her to attend two days at a week from 9:30 - 2:30.
I don't have a problem with church-based preschools or MDOs, provided that their religious teachings fall in line with ours.

Me either, but they just don't exist.
2 days/week 9-2 this year it was $150 for first child, $135 for each additional. next year its $166 first kid, $156 each addit'l
Oooh... you need to start your own church and MDO. I bet the tax breaks are great.

We are considering this school for duder and I agree 100%, for what they offer they do not charge enough.

For our Tuesday/Thursday MDO from 8:30-12:30 it is $364/month so about $45.50 a time it is also a brand new facility with a ton of ameneities. It's also more of preschool and has a school type schedule where she has Social Studies, Art, Spanish, Science, Math, Language, etc.
The place I wanted to send DS originally was about $600/mo for MWF. It was a long day, but it was a lot of money. They also had an 18 month wait list and that was the short version because we're members of the congregation.
I think the place DS goes now is definitely at the higher end of the tuition spectrum.
