Success after IF

Maternity clothes are ugly.

Just because I am pregnant does not mean I am fat and want to wear a tent. Uggghhhhhhh vent over.

Re: Maternity clothes are ugly.

  • Really? I LOVED buying and wearing maternity clothes. There were so many awesome styles I wouldn't have looked good in except when pregnant. My wardrobe never looked as good as when I was pregnant.

  • Oh no! Where are you shopping? I loved wearing a tight ruched tank top with a cute (non-maternity) cardigan and pants (jeans or whatever). I agree that dresses can be tent-like, but there was a lot of other cute stuff to choose from! I hope you find something you like!
  • My problem was Maternity Jeans.  I hated them with a passion.

  • I'm finding the stuff out there isn't as cute this time around, for whatever reason.

this!  I wore my regular shirts and dresses for a really long time with my maternity pants.  I liked form fitting tops because I didn't feel like a moose then :)  rouching is really helpful.  I also bought a lot of the old navy maternity wife tanks (both the strappy kinds and the wife beater kinds).  The wide beater (ie ribbed) ones were my favorite!  I still wear them now as a layer under a lot of my clothes for nursing!

ETA:  I don't want to be dismissive, some of the maternity clothes are certainly tents!  I had a few things that were huge on me even at the end!!  Hang in there!  you will find some things you are comfortable in...and soon you will be rockin' a big, beautiful bump!!

Me too.  I boxed up all my maternity clothes and was so sad because I loved all of my stuff.  All of my stuff was from Kohls or Motherhood Maternity.

  • LOL! OK, not ALL of them. I am looking at Old Navy and Gap and there are a lot of cute styles with banded bottoms or ruching on the sides (did order some cute Gap Pure Body tanks) but I get frustrated because they are all sold out in my size! And what's left are the tent styles. I loved mat clothes shopping 5 years ago when I was pregnant with DS, but for some reason this time they just aren't appealing to me. Also, I am 15-20 pounds lighter than when I was going in to my first pg, so I feel like I want more form fitting styles!
