XP: For those of you that have tattoos..

..have you considered getting one in honor of your new baby? Or, if you're a second/third/seventh time mom, did you get one for your previous children? H really wants to get Aaron's footprints tattooed. Personally, that's not my style, but he's got me thinking that I'd like one too. Now I just need to come up with an idea.

Yes, I have tattoos, and yes, I want to get one for LO and any subsequent kids we may have... I, however, am with YH, I want DS's footprints - they're so small and adorable. DH has a stupid little "baby" devil (wearing a diaper) on his back with his DS1's name and birthdate around it. The idea (a tribute to child) is a nice one, but in his case, the execution was lame-o... but like you said about the footprints, cartoony tats aren't my style!! Smile

I have tattoos and I have a butterfly on my ankle that symbolizes the miscarriage I had six years ago.

I do want to get something to symbolize DD, but I am not sure if I will do another butterfly or start something different. Footprints are too big and I am not sure how many kids we will have, so I wouldn't know how to organize it. When we are done having children, I might just design it then.

That sounds like a great idea!!! I plan to do them on my left shoulder. I have a back piece started that is several large butterflies starting on my right shoulder and going diagonally to my left hip. I have only about 1/2 done though, so currently it stops at about where my bra band goes. I feel like I'm running out of canvas too; as I just can't see me having any tats on my thighs.

I have tats and i want to get one for Morrighan My Hubby is going to get her foot print on his arm so im not going to do that but i am going to be getting.....

for Morrighan on my left shoulder blade and i have this one

on my lower back already, minus the flames so it all flows,

a pheonix and a unicorn and when i have a boy ill get a tribal dragon

I have an angel on the left side of my lower stomach that actually still looks the same after being pregnant, which I'm happy about. I want to get Luke's initials inside a small heart on the inside of my left wrist, then the same thing for each additional child, but my husband doesn't want me to. He doesn't like tattoos and only accepts the one I already have because it was there before he met me and he was already in love with me before he saw it.

I don't do tattoos, but my husband got one last week that is a tree of life and below it he put Lo's initials and birth date. I like it because it has meaning and is tasteful.

I have a tattoo on my ankle that I had done for my son. I got a bird because I love them, but I specifically chose a bullfinch because they have been associated with the Taurus sign, which is my son's sign. What the picture doesn't show is that the bird is holding a ribbon in his beak. On the ribbon is a key because my son loves organzing things and keeping everything in a safe spot. His initials are on the key. There is also a little bell because my son loves music. Birds like picking up little trinkets and my son likes to use his hands and is always working with small things. Anyhoo, lots of detail, but I love it. It's also special because my best friend designed, drew & coloured it before the tattoo artist inked it on.

I definitely plan on getting one in honour of my daughter. I plan on waiting a year or more to see what personality traits of hers emerge.

last year i got this tattoo of footprints in the colors representing my girls' birthstone colors. we weren't planning anymore kids so i thought i was safe. god decided to surprise us with sadie so now i get to add her footprint. but NOT looking forward to the pain towards the bottom of my foot!!!

I have one tattoo, and before I knew I was pregnant I was planning on getting another tattoo the words "Amazing Grace" in honor of my grandpa who passed away last Easter. I also have always wanted one for each of my children. I want a tiny footprint for each with their name under it. Just very small though.

My DH and I both have two tattoo's. I don't know if he plans on getting any for LO, but I've always wanted, once I've had all my kids, to get an anklet tattooed with their names. So, I'll have to wait a bit before getting children tattoo's. One of my best friend's daughter's initials spell JAM, so she has her initials in a strawberry, which I think is cute. She also has some of her niece's and nephews initial's tattooed on her as well, but not her other two kids, which I think is a little weird.
