anyone else run out of lullabyes?

I've realized how few I actually know. After singing "twinkle twinkle", "lullabye and goodnight", "Jesus loves me", and "my sweetheart's the man in the moon" about a zillion times each, I was about to go crazy. Kenzie loooves when we sing to her, so I have had to make up quite a few on the fly  ...

Drake & Rhianna's "What's My Name?" has turned into "oh na na, Kenzie's my name, oh na na, Kenzie's my name"

that new song that goes "when I play that bow chica bow wow, what you gonna say ..." has turned into "when I play that twinkle little star, are you gonna sleep"

and "Chasing Cars" is actually a good one for when we are cuddling and she's falling asleep.

I feel like that Friends episode where they debate if it's okay to sing the "I like big butts" song to thier baby, because it makes her laugh. At least I am changing the words. :-)

    I sing show tunes and disney songs cuz that's what I can think of when I'm trying to calm him.

    Haha you guys are so good.  When Maya gets fussy I usually think of some random song I heard on thge radio a few days before and make up the words because Im so sleep deprived I cant remember the actual words.  Probably for the best,  the radio is getting out of hand these days.

    The two I sing over and over and over are "You are My Sunshine" and "Lullaby in Blue".

    The latter one is from a 1950's movie called "Bundle of Joy", and is sang by Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher.  My Mom sang it to me when I was a baby, and I love it! If you can talk your S/O into it, it works as a duet, DH refuses though, lol.

    Try downloading some Elizabeth Mitchell.  She's got some old favorites and some new stuff that I haven't heard.

    my mom couldn't think of any kiddie songs to sing Addison so she started singing George Clinton lol.  i sing songs from bands that i like.  a friend brought over a Disney lullaby cd so maybe we need to crack that open.

    I have never sang a real song to him!  I make things up on the fly.  He doesn't seem to mind.

    haha lots of good ideas- of course i know "somewhere over the rainbow" and a bunch of the others listed!! my sleep deprived brain just never thought of them

    Good ideas!  I've been singing songs from the radio too, like Katy Perry, LOL!  And I do remember that Friends episode!

    I sing lots of different songs to Luke.  One thing I haven't played yet, but I need to is our Lullabye Renditions of Journey CD.  There is a company that makes lullabye renditions for a bunch of rock groups.  The songs are instrumentals, and the guitars and drums are replaced with bell-like sounds.  It's awesome because it's soothing for babies but tunes to good songs and you can sing along.  https://rockabyebabymusic.com/
