I have a shower to go to for a gal in my cooking club/local board. This is their first baby and they are team green (finding out the sex when the baby is born). I figure that she will get Goodnight Moon and probably some Sandra Boynton which I usually see at baby showers. Thoughts for other books to give her?

Re: Book recommendations
DD's favorite books when she was a bit younger was this set of Sesame Street books she received as a gift. There's 4 of them, they're short and the pictures are big and colorful - here's the link on Amazon:

The Karen Katz books she also loves...most of them are lift-the-flap books, which are great.
For a while she was obsessed with this book too - it's a flap book but also touchy-feely!

In addition to the Sandra Boynton books and Goodnight Moon, I also see these at showers...
Goodnight Gorilla
The Very Hungry Catapillar
Any of the Karen Katz books
Gallop
Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you see?
On The Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman
Also, a lot of the books come in a boxed set that include a plush like this one below.

Betty Jane's grandfather gave her this book. It's so beautiful. Guaranteed at least one good cry. Personally, whenever I try to read it to her I can't get past the 1st page. sniff... sniff
I have developed a bit of an obsession for childrens books. Ada does love, LOVE the Karen Katz books. She illustrated some written by Margaret Wise Brown (A Childs Good Morning Book).
Others I love:
All the Places to Love
The Rain Babies
Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain
The Paperbag Princess
Emily's Balloon
Kitten's First Full Moon
Smudge

I got 3 Goodnight Moon's but nobody got me Goodnight Gorilla (which I even put on my registry).
I Love You All the Time (https://www.amazon.com/I-Love-You-All-Time/dp/0970115504) is currently our bedtime book.
I love On the Night You Were Born, but it makes me cry too much so we don't read it very often.
My mother got me some great books that are just black, white, and yellow, with very simple graphic designs that DS is really interested in, but I can't find a link to them (I think she got them in Australia).
