Seems like a dumb business move to me. I LOVE ours and everyone we know who has one does too. I personally don't want every tool I own on one device, i lose ***! Bizarre.
My geek husband said: "Eh, given the quality of the Flips vs. high end vid-phones and all the cameras that have the same or better quality it was inevitable. I really want a better video capture for Grady someday soon. Flip is good, Flip is convenient, but Flip (ours at least) is also fairly low on the quality picture side of things. At least when we know we want video it would be nice. Flip is still great for spontaneous stuff."
There are other brands of similar cameras so if you miss these, you still have options. I'm surprised though b/c they are so so popular!
