What's the strangest treat your kiddo got?

While ToTing? Miles got some pretzels (not too weird) that had a pamphlet about ants attached to it (weird).

  • Hey!  We handed out pretzels!

No stange treats.  MIL gives soda which I think is odd.

The pretzels weren't weird...the pamphlet was. LOL  Actually, Miles LOVES pretzels.

  • The only thing she got other then candy were some rice cakes, kind of weird I guess... She also got some playdoh which I thought was a pretty good idea.

Yeah, Miles got play doh, too. I thought that was cool.

  • He got a fruit leather.  Not that strange.  It actually looks really good, I think I may eat it.

Dh and I were p!$$ed.  All 3 of the kids got "vote for xxx for president" pencils, notepads, pins (to wear on a shirt) and 1 piece of candy in a small snack size ziplock bag.  I wish I remember what house it was.  It was dark so we couldnt see when it was put in their bags.  I would take it back and ring the doorbell and then THROW it in their face and tell them not to solicit my kids and press thier opions on who to vote for on Halloween.

My 3.5yr old ds and 2.5y old dds cant vote and no matter what you give me  will vote for who I f*!cking want to.

    Thanks.  :)

That's amazing how much effort they put into it and a little overboard.  We gave out bumper stickers (to the older kids) along with a ton of candy, but the bumper stickers are for the radio station DH works for.  We thought it was funny.

Someone was watching The Biggest Loser this week.. ?They advised to hand out playdoh instead of candy!! I thought it was a really cute idea.. but I never saw the little playdoh packets anywhere.. :)

  • I seriously want to know which candidate has TOT endorsements! Lucky Duck- spill it!

Juney was sick, we didn't TOT, but one year someone handed our sandwich bags witha couple of pennies inside...yum.

  • We went ToTing at the mall, and the pretzel stand handed out advertisements for their website. Nothing else with it. It didnt even have a coupon or anything on it. Lame.

  • My Mom made DS a little basket with all types of candy...the weird thing is that he is only 22 mos and she knows he has never eaten candy and that there is no way he could eat most of it if I let him...like caramel and marshmallow.  She sees him at least weekly so it's not like she does not know.

  • Jack was given a camera yesterday. His daycare class went trick or treating around their building to the nearest offices. I'm guessing they stopped at the Kodak vendor's office.

He was also given playdoh. That was a cute idea. And a gross finger tip candy. It was called body parts. So gross.

  • Not strange, actually quite neat:

One house handed out candy AND glowy bracelets.  I thought that was a great idea.  I just wonder how many they actually had....like did they run out after a certain amount or if they had enough for the entire night.
  • We went to the mall and got some glow necklaces and some tattoos that said Samurai Girl.

  • My DD got a chewable original papaya enzyme "the after meal supplement" which warn to keep out of reach of children. wtf

  • My DS got freezies (unfrozen), which is an ok idea, but would have made a huge mess if any of the plastic had ripped.

I always give out Halloween stickers instead of candy, and the kids think that it is cool (well, I do have the odd teenager who you can tell is unimpressed).

I make up bags with Halloween baking and the stickers for the kids we know that come to our house.

  • Growing up my mom was a sugar nazi and we were the wierd house that passed out pennies and raisins and yes we did get egged.

My husband I I pass out mini chocolate bars when we are home but we usually volunteer at our church.

Speaking of polical flyers someone at our church left polical flyers on all the cars in our church's parking lot.  We usually have a huge carnival with tons of rides, food, raffles, games and of course candy.  So as you can imagine this is the biggest opportunity my church has to reach out to the community.  I didn't disagree with the flyer I just did not think our halloween celebration was the time or the place to get political.  Please people can't we just have one night of fun without all this policial crap.  Uggh I wanted to go to all the cars and take the stupid flyers off.

  • An avon catalog that had a sticker on it saying (in a sing-songy rhyme) that the book may be old, so call the lady to get a new one.

    WTF??

  • sticks of gum. not in a pack either, just sticks of gum. and I say Playdough at Target in their Halloween section. They were bags with like 24 things in them.
