We are renting a 2 bedroom house right now, with no plans to move anytime soon. We plan on keeping the baby in our room for at least 3-4months and then moving both kids into the same room. Has anyone else done this, how did it work? DS is an AWESOME sleeper, and while I don't want the baby waking him up, I don't really see another option. Thanks, ladies!

Re: If you kids share a room.
I can't speak from experience yet but I wanted to answer your post since you're from Zeeland and I'm from Rockford, hah! I've been to Zeeland a few times.
Anyway, that's exactly what we plan on doing though. But I might actually wait a bit longer than a few months before moving DD into the same room as DS until she is relatively consistent about STTN. God knows how long that will take... DS didn't STTN until 17 months, haha!

Crazy!! ; )
I'm planning on waiting until LO is only waking up about once a night at least. DS didn't STTN until he was 10 months old. Don't see us waiting that long.
We live in a 2 BR and the kids share a room. My DS was never a great sleeper, but was pretty good. We were afraid he was a light sleeper and Dd would wake him up. DD, however, is and was always a fabulous sleeper. We ended up keeping her in our room until she was almost 6 months old (she was STTN for a while at that point, but we were all sleeping just fine, so we felt no need to rock the boat).
They actually do pretty well together. Just tonight, DD was in bed at 6:30 and asleep by 7 when DS was coming in the room to go to bed. He has been in there off and on yelling for almost the last hour and DD is sleeping right through it! (And before anyone calls Social Services on me, I have been in there multiple times - DS pooped so I changed his diaper, then he wanted water, then he wanted to rock in the rocking chair, etc...finally I just had to leave him!)
There have been nights when they have woken each other up, and honestly it is not pretty. The whole house ends up awake. It happened a few nights in a row, and I was counting down the days until we were moving to our new house where they would each get their own rooms. But, I think it was all teething related (both of them), and things are back to normal now for the past week, so I am hoping it continues!
We keep a pnp in our room, so if someone keeps fussing, they come in our room and sleep in the pnp. I also have DD take her afternoon nap in there, since I am sure they would wake each other up napping.
