There is 15 years between me and my sister... so My Mum did something similar to you... I remember seeing her with my new little sister, and thinking how happy she looked. She loved doing it all again.

My son was almost 15 yrs when we had DD. DD will be 7 yrs when our LO comes, and my son will be 22 yrs. I guess I can than severe infertility for that!
DS will be 5, so not that big. I just wanted to share that my sisters are 16, 22, and 25 years older than me. Although I am not very close with the oldest, the bond with my other two sisters has always been great. They were a little jealous of my parent's hands-off, lax, "whatever" method once I came along - apparently they were brought up a bit differently. But all-in-all, they have played a huge role in my life. Good luck starting over. I bet there are a lot of products and ideas out there now that didn't exist 13 yrs ago. Have fun with that :P
There are 22 months between my older sister and I, and 11 years later, along came little sister. She's almost like my child. We have a very parental/child relationship. Some people in my small town are convinced she is my child. Weirdos.
I think childhood was different for her because she didn't have similarly aged playmates around the house. My older sister left for gifted high school (boarding) at 15, so it was just me and her. She just got toted along to all of my extracurricular activities. All of our cousins nearby were even older than me. I feel bad for her because I didn't have enough patience to let her be a kid, because I wanted her to be on my schedule ( another reason teenagers should not have babies).

OMG, you can't imagine! The maternity clothes are waaaaay better. Back then it seemed like you only had a choice between solid or striped shirts, LOL! My little brother is 9 1/2 yrs younger than me so I definitely know what your siblings are talking about when they say your parents were more laxed with you. While I went off to college, my brother got a dog. I never was allowed to have a dog!
My DD will be almost 7 1/2 when this LO arrives. I'm excited that I'll have a "little helper" and she's over the moon happy with no longer being an only child!

i always wanted my kids close in age. however our DS # 2 passed away in 2009 (DS # 1 was born in 2007). And then we couldn't get pg, had another loss and finally had to see an RE. Luckily we got pg again. )
Now our kids will be 4 yrs apart.

I have a step-daughter who will be 16 in July. When DH and I told her about her upcoming new sib, she jumped up and down in excitment (literally!). She told DH that she has wanted a baby brother or sister FOREVER. It made us happy and relieved she was so excited about everything.

David "BD" 2/8/07 Spencer 9/12/11DD's 15th birthday is 3 weeks after this one's due date.
I am farking nuts. And DH is worse - he keeps saying we should have another in 2-3 years.
