Hello ladies! I don't normally post here since I don't have kids but I've got a question about rear-facing convertible carseats... I am a nanny to two little ones, the youngest of which has just gotten his new convertible seat.
The dad of the family installed the seat in my car today and he seems unsure of the results, as do I. It is a Britax Marathon, I think. I have a Camry. Does the tether need to be used? As he installed it, the tether goes back over the LO and is attached to the anchor behind the headrest, so the tethering straps are just a few inches over his head and into the back. Is this correct? It looks like a mess! I don't know how easy it is to get him in and out of the seat as I haven't tried yet.
Any insight? I tried googling but that has led to more questions! agh Thank you!
Re: Rear-facing convertible seat w/ tether?
Did you go to the Britax website or just google? When I had questions about the install of our Britax I went directly to Britax website and it cleared them right up.
I do remember thinking the rear facing teather system was a bit strange looking, I would check Britax website and have it inspected.
The tether should anchor behind one of the front seats when RF. My britax came with a tether adaptor for cars that didn't have a LATCH anchor, you can loop it through an anchor point at the base of the front seat. I found directions by googling, I don't remember what exactly but something about Britax rear facing latch anchor.
Good luck.
This. We have a blvd and when we got it installed in my car (odyssey) they anchored it to part of the car under the passenger seat, not the seat. We had to take the decorative plastic off. I would get it checked and see what they say.
