VENTING!! But thanking god everything turned out okay for baby & I.
Yesterday on my way to work and I was in a car accident. On the expressway there was traffic & I was at a complete stop as I look at my view mirror I see a SUV looking like they were not going to stop and BAM crashed into my car. Luckily my car had minor damages but the impact jerked me a few times in the car. I had to wait 2 hours for the cop to show up and then took 45 min to write the report. When he was done he gave the lady that crashed into me 2 tickets and gave me 1 ticket for not having my insurance card up to date. Wtf I get a ticket too. Whatever. After the accident DH and I went to the ER because my Dr told me to get checked out.
Hospital nightmare, since I was complaining of back aches and minor cramps and headaches they drew blood and got a urine sample. I got to the hospital at 11:45am until 9pm. They did not let me drink any water or no food so I spent the whole day with no food or water. My baby Dr couldn?t believe I was still there at 5pm and called the ER to complain. By 6:30pm I was going in for my u/s. The Dr requested the u/s so I can have piece of mind that the baby was ok. The u/s lady was a sweetheart she really took her time and showed me everything about the baby. The best part the first look of our baby and he/she had a tumbs up the lady said look the baby saying ?mommy I am okay? I was in aaawww!! The baby was okay and that let me relax a bit. I was able to see the baby for a bit. That to me was worth waiting 9 hrs. J
But can you believe having a pregnant women with no food or water for 9 hrs that is terrible wrong!! There was no need for letting me starve or die of thirst. Oh yeah and they had a damn needle stuck in my arm the whole time in case they need to connect me to IV?s or draw more blood. It?s all a scam to get money off the ins. The Dr said before he discharged me that there was no need to draw blood for the reason I was there. Ugh!! Thank god overall baby & I are ok. Just still having a bit back aches and legs feel sore.
Oh yeah and today I get to work and the A/C is broken. Oh boy what a week. Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: Venting!! geez.
Wow lilstar they should have atleast called you and said we don't have any in stock your going to have to try some where else. I don't get people!! Glad you were able to get one atleast. insane.
The excuse they kept giving me was incase the DR had to draw more blood or because of the u/s. I kept telling them the u/s has nothing to do with me eatting or drinking. They were clueless. They finally gave me water about 5 hrs already there and told me I could not pee until my u/s. I was dying. Didn't understand why I had to have a full bladder for an u/s. When I got down to the u/s the lady is like wow your bladder is full I said yeah I know they wouldn't let me pee. She was shocked she said for the u/s I was getting I didn't need my bladder full. INSANE how clueless the people in ER are. But when I got back to my room from u/s they still denied me water and food. It was crazy.
I'm so sorry! I'm glad you and the baby are OK.
Not sure of the laws in your state, but you can most likely get that ticket dismissed. If it was just a matter of not having an up to date card, you just have to bring the updated card to the court house before the date of your hearing. If your insurance coverage actually lapsed, get a policy right away, and bring the new insurance card to the court house before the date of your hearing. The court will most likely dismiss the ticket if it's your first time and the policy was updated within 24 hours of when the ticket was issued.
I asked for food or water every 1/2 hour told them next time they come in my room they are going to find me on the floor passed out.

I can go to the court house and get it dismiss since I did have insurance, but since I really don't want to miss work days so I can use my personal days for when I leave on maternity. So there's a new option now that you can fax your info of your ins or email it to them and send a check of $10 and they dismiss it as well.

My life has a superb cast but I can't figure out the plot.
cruddy. I don't know about where you are, but where I am...you just take proof that your insurance was up to date to the place where you pay your ticket and they drop the ticket. Right at the counter.
I had that happen once. I grabbed my old ins verification card and put it in my glovebox instead of my updated one.
