My First Pregnancy concerns

This is my first pregnancy and I an 5 weeks pregnant. I have been experiencing some cramping. It feels as strong as a menstrual cramp. I get it in the morning and when I am sleeping. There is no blood! Thank God! Anyone experience the same thing?

Re: My First Pregnancy concerns

  • Yes! I had my first appt today and threw all these questions out and my OB said unless there is bright red bleeding and cramps that get really intense everything is fine.  Mine have been crampy but nothing compared to what my actual period cramps are like.  Congrats!

  • I have been very crampy and even get occasional sharp twinges, worse when lying down. Everyone reassures me this is normal...can't wait to see baby on ultrasound next week. I know it will make me rest easier.

  • I too had pretty strong cramps first thing in the morning and at night. They woke me up sometimes but went away in my seventh week!

  • I had this and it freaked me out. i called dr. she said that it is completely normal and to take tylenol and a heating pad on low setting. she said unless you are bleeding alot or cramps make you double over that you shouldnt worry.
  • Yes, cramping is normal. As long as there isn't blood and cramping it sounds normal. But it's always good to give your Dr a quick call and confirm so they can note your file and confirm.
  • I read somewhere that drinking water helps and so every time I start getting crampy I drink some water.  It definitely helps me.
