My son thinks he's a beaver

C keeps chewing on the crib rail and when he isn't chewing on it, he puts his teeth on it and moves from side to side like he is sharpening his teeth.  While it is cute and funny he is starting to strip the stain off the crib and I'm sure teeth marks are in the near future.  I looked up our crib to see if there were any teething guards made for our crib but I couldn't find any.  There are a lot of other products on Amazon that look like they would work.  Does anyone have experience with this?  Did you get guards?  If so, what kind?

TIA!

Re: My son thinks he's a beaver

  • Leacho make one that is cloth and you velcro it on.  It is organic and it worked great until he figured out where the velcro straps were and undid them.  I still use it but I have used Diaper pins on the outside to pin it safely (He can't undo them nor can he reach them pkus they are very strong).

I got it from BRU but THIS is the one. https://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Organic-Easy-Teether-Convertible/dp/B001HO48M4

  • I made one with fleece and quilt batting. It was super easy and does the job. Let me know if you want me to try to find the link where I got the idea!

  • I made this out of fleece.  It was really easy and cheap and has done a great job keeping DD from scratching up the crib rail, especially since it will convert to her bed once she's older.
  • Don't buy the gummy ones, they stripped some of the stain off our crib when removed (although it got recalled so in the end it didn't matter).  I'm planning to buy or make a cloth one next time around ;)
