Diet drinks are linked to obesity.
It is proven. Dear type 2 diabetics (and pre-diabetics, and those at risk of again, type 2 diabetes) please take note and make some lifestyle changes.
eta: type 2 to satisfy the masses
eta again because I no longer have a brain.

Re: I just have to say (a vent-ish PSA)
i prefer the regular anyways. i try and limit my intake but Coke is just sooo good.
I call BS!!!! PEPSI ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!
yes, of course. I do know the difference between the two.
A lot of people don't, which is why I even mentioned it. Just a pet peeve of mine! Carry on with your PSA.
It would be my pet peeve too if I were in your shoes.
It's a pet-peeve of mine too, and I think you should have said type 2 since you apparently know the difference.
My dad is type one, has drank diet coke his entire life, and is as skinny as a rail.

oh, okay okay. jeez. Not clarifying it just means that I thought it was obvious that I was talking about type 1.
You said type 1 but you mean type TWO.
You're still saying it wrong. You mean type 2 diabetics. Type 1 diabetics are not diabetic b/c they are obese.
I have to throw my two cents in on this one. I am type 2 diabetic. It runs in my family, I am not obese and have been told by Dr's that I will never not be diabetic. I was diagnosed 10 years ago when I was 27 after my grandmother died from complications and my dad was diagnosed. I manage my diabetes with diet and meds. I do have a diet Pepsi every day because if I didn't I would be drinking nothing but water all day every day and I need the caffeine.
The main thing with any diet, diabetic or not is everything in moderation. If you are going to have a diet soda or even a regular soda then only have one 12 ounce can and maybe don't have a Snickers bar with it...
Live a day or two in my life and only eat low carb, whole grain, sugar free, high protein, low fat foods and then realize that an occasional soda or cupcake is such a treat.
Hi, I just wanted to add that while I brought up Type 1, because I have it, I didn't get into the whole list of possibilities/reasons for people to be type 2. So I hope I didn't sound like the people that bother me because they're uninformed, etc.
