I SAH, but do some freelance work on the side from home (photo editing, album layouts etc). I've had a working relationship with the Photographer for a long long time, so it's nice because I can turn down work if things are busy. Since having my 2nd I haven't been taking as much work...but when I have time and he has a lot of work for me it's nice to have a little extra cash coming in.

I SAH. I do cover school board meetings for my local newspaper but that's only twice a month. I love staying home and working those two evenings a month is a nice break.
The two men in my life. Oh, and I have a husband too...
Advantages: I'm able to be with my girls all day and do a lot of fun stuff with them. We are member of the local MOMs Club and we have stuff going on at least a few times a week. We are able to hang out with lots of other kids and moms.
Disadvantages: I rarely have time to myself. I don't even get to pee by myself.
Do you stay at home, work at home, or work outside of the home? Work outside of the home
If you work at home or outside of the home how many hours do you work a week? 24-28 depending on the time of the month/ quarter
What are the advantages? Disadvantages? Advantages - I get out of the house, I feel valued, I do something other than baby stuff that is mentally simulating, we don't need my income so it is just extra play money. Disadvantages: There really aren't many, if any. I would say not seeing Kate this morning is a disadvantage but, it doesn't happen often enough to really be a huge negative.
I work part time outside the home (about 15 hours a week). I think this is the best of both worlds. I get to spend all day with S but still get to get out and use my teacher brain a few hours a day. (I work at an after school program). I am looking for a full time position for next year though, actually I am hoping to get called in for an interview for one school sometime this week, think good thoughts for me!

I SAH and love it. I really enjoy being able to be with N all the time. I think it's been easier for me to adjust to everything and not feel stressed about having to leave for work. I worked outside the home when I had my 1st son and wished everyday to be at home, even though I loved my job.
I stay at home. The only advantage (and it's a big one) is that I get to spend all my time with Zoey. I absolutely love being with her every day. The only real disadvantage is that we have so much less money. I used to make as much as DH so when we decided I would SAH our income was cut in half.

I work outside the home full time, 40 hours a week. Disadvantages: I miss my kids, a lot. Advantages: paying the bills, having a roof over our heads, clothes, food, etc. The adult interaction is nice too.
I'm a special snowflake. I need a choice for both.
How's that? Well, I do work a full eight hour day, but I am still home by late morning. I then take care of two babies by myself until 5pm.
The advantage? I still get about 8 hours with my boys until they go to sleep. I feel like I'm not missing much.
Disadvantage? It's exhausting!
You work at night? And then take care of the boys all day? Wow! I think I'll stop complaining about being tired now!
Yeah, I get to work around 3am. I'm always paranoid cops are stalking me to see if I've been drinking or driving. I mean, who else is out at that time?
Work outside of home full time. I am at work 40+ hours a week Monday through Friday. I will also work from home as needed with remote log-in - evenings and weekends.
Only advantage is $$. Everything else is a disadvantage.
I work outside of the home. I work full time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday 8-5.
The advantages are plenty! I am a major contributor to our household income. DD has health insurance under me. I have a 401k, pension plan, 529 college savings trust for DD, sick leave and paid vacations are always worth the hard work. I have independence and I get to interact with adults every day.
My mom watches DD while I'm at work so she is in very good hands.
Disadvantages: I miss out on the daily activities DD does during the day like playdates, trips to the park, classes at the library etc.
I'm a special snowflake. I need a choice for both.

Haha! I can definitely understand that. Anytime I'm out late I think a cop will pull me over.
i work in the office mon, wed & fri. i 'work' from home tues & thurs (although i'm not quite sure i get a lot of work done).
my days in the office feel like a break sometimes compared to the days i'm home. between the baby and all the other things that go on, i'm more exhausted the days i'm home.
i consider myself extremely lucky since i get the best of both worlds.

SAHM until September (on mat leave). DH will be a SAHD for another month and has been off with me since kiddo was born.
When I go back to work, I'll be out of the house from about 8-4 Mon-Fri (including travel time; we live close to my school).
As far as I can tell at this point, the advantages will be the fact that I LOVE my job, and the money. DH loves his job too, but it is seasonal (Apr-Nov), so we need my income to survive.
The disadvantages will be that I have to be away from DD for 8 hours a day, and that we'll have to keep her in daycare part time all year long to save our spot even though we only need it for Sept/Oct and Apr-June. Seems like a waste of $, but no one will take her just for a few months here and there.
I guess technically now I should be SecondBabyMomma
I love everything about SAH. I worked at a daycare in high school and never want to send my children to one. Plus I don't think I could find a job outside the home that would pay well enough to even justify me going to work.
The only disadvantage is since we just moved here I don't have very many friends and I'm finding it difficult to get out and meet people.
Well for the next week or so, I guess you'd consider me a combo of SAHM and working outside of the home... I work at an accounting office as extra help during tax season. And well, that ends in six days! After that I guess I will go back to just being SAH.
Advantages: spending time with and getting to see my kid grow up and hit her milestones, no commute/no ginormous fuel bill, having time to run errands like doctor's appt's, bill paying and grocery shopping
Disadvantages: feeling like I'm almost solely responsible for raising our kid, feeling like I don't have "my own money" to spend, not using my degree (business... why I ever did that I don't know), feeling like a general failure for my lack of ability to keep a clean house while keeping the kid happy too.
I work outside the home 45-50 hours a week. Advantages are that we bring in more money, substantially. We can afford to live the way we did prior to having a baby and still save for our future. I get intellectual stimulation and enjoy my career (most aspects of it). I also won't lose time on my career trajectory. For LO - I truly believe daycare is a good thing for him. He's a very social little guy who enjoys being around a variety of people and children. He's always happy when drop him off and pick him up. I think he'll be at an advantage when he enters into preschool because he will be used to sharing the attention of adults and will have established some independence. Disadvantages...not enough time with LO, always going-going-going. The lack of sleep and preoccupation with various developmental issues (sleep training, etc.) has been a KILLER to my productivity at work. I never feel like I'm doing a good job of anything right now (when I'm at work, I'm preoccupied with LO and home, and when I'm at home, I'm constantly feeling guilty for not working).

The bolded parts are pretty much me. I do however have issues with the concept of daycare - I always have. I truly believe children should be raised in the home with appropriate socialization. That being said, I love that LO goes to my friend's daycare. I know this woman and the children she has raised. We chose her because we agree with her style. The last few weeks have been incredibly trying on us, so much so that H wants us to make a change. One where E still gets time at daycare/school (socialization), but I'm home more - so I can create the home environment we both want. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks.
I work outside of the home...I'm a high school teacher. The advantages are that I get away and get to be around adults during the day, I get paid, have great hours, holidays off and all summer off (so I can be a SAHM for 3 months out of the year). I work from 7:30-2:40, M-F. The disadvantages are that I miss my little man sooo much and wish sometimes I could stay home w/ him all day, everyday. However I know that going to the babysitters is good for him and his social development as well. So I guess I can't complain, but if I had my way we would be SUPER rich and not have to work and I could just stay home and play w/ my baby all day, every day. :-) A girl can dream right? lol
PPD/PPA Mom...it has been super hard, but I'm making it! Slow steps... Mom to Carter (6), and Calianne (1). Proud VBAC, natural birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering momma!
Do you stay at home, work at home, or work outside of the home? I stay at home but make money selling baked goods, dryer balls, tutus, and various crafty things on the side.
If you work at home or outside of the home how many hours do you work a week? I probably spend 10 hours a week on the side stuff.
What are the advantages? Disadvantages? It's nice being here for the kids all the time and knowing everything that goes on with them. However, I miss having time to myself. Some days I feel like I'm going to lose it but I can't really take a breather.
I have SAH for the last 3+ years. I absolutely LOVE it. The flexibility, seeing all th e little things, doing all sorts of things, exploring, cuddling! The only "disadvantage" I guess is that it's hard to be patient and get things done some days when you're exhausted from being up with the baby but I'd assume it'd be even harder at work when you're tired
I work outside the home. I make more than DH so on just his income we'd be in negative $ right now. Half a days work for me pays for a week of daycare.

I work 5 days a week, but one day from home.
Disadvantages: I miss C when I am at work, and I am running around like a mad woman before and after.
Advantages: We do not pay daycare since MIL watches her, I get some adult interaction, and the paycheck.
Do you stay at home, work at home, or work outside of the home? Work outside of the home

Work outside the home - 45hrs per week.
Disadvantages - I always feel rushed. I wish I had more time with my kids.
Advantages - We need both incomes to get by, so it's nice being able to pay bills and all. lol I also love my job & co-workers.

Advantages- love what I do, make a good living so we can have a lifestyle we enjoy, great friends and "adult" conversation every day.

Advantages - money, sanity
Disadvantage - sick kid
