How old was baby when you were comfy taking him/her on the subway, tube, the T or other form of public transportation where there are many folks around you?
after she had her 2 month shots. I'm not super overprotective, but something about being in a crowded space with lots of people was not appealing...
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."

We go out a lot now (did in the first week), but I don't want to do public transport/driving to DH's workplace for coworkers to meet DS until he's had his 2-month shots. I'll feel much better then for some reason (even though immune systems aren't strong until 6-mo to 1-year).
We have the T here and I still haven't put him on it. We haven't NEEDED to take it yet, so I avoid it when I can. I would not have taken him until after his 2 month shots though.
