Thinking of taking DH and DD away for a couple of days over spring break and would love to take her to the big aquarium. Is there anything else fun for an (almost) 3 year old to do (hotel pools, etc)?
I've got no knowledge of hotel pools etc. However, in addition to the Aquarium (which is quite pricey) we have the zoo, the science center, the B&O railroad museum and Port Discovery. Washington DC is quite close and if they don't close the government the zoo there is free, I think their aquarium might also be free but I'm not certain. You just missed the circus which left yesterday. I'm not a huge Orioles fan but upper deck tickets are usually pretty inexpensive also. That is all I'm able to think of right off the top of my head.
My DD loved Port Discovery a few weeks ago. The toddler area was a little too "babyish" for her, but she loved the bigger kid activities. There is a HUGE climbing tower/aparatus thing. Scary for me, but fun for her! Also - the Maryland Zoo is really fun and very kid friendly. Science Center and the B&O Railroad Museum are fun too.
Ditto what all of the pp's said. DS also LOVES just walking around the harbor (tons of people watching, tons of boats) where there is a carosel and paddle boating. He also LOVES to ride the water taxi. Its a bit pricey, but totally worth it in my opinion.
I'm not sure when or where you're going to be in town, but there are several little "beaches" within 30-45 minutes of the city. I don't know much about pools because we have a community pool that we belong to in the summer.
Hope you enjoy your trip!

Fort McHenry is there too - you can get it by taking the water taxi. On the top of Federal Hill (behind the Science Center) is a decent playground with nice views.

Just keep in mind that the aquarium doesn't allow strollers.
There's a ton to do! Port Discovery just opened a toddler area and the Maryland Zoo is great too.

But they have backpack carriers you can rent and a stroller check if you have one with you for the day.
