Im 13 weeks 3 days pregnant with techincally my second butthe firs was a miscarriage. i cant fall asleep until like 2 am! and cant make myself wake up till like noon? is this normal? what can i do to change my sleeping cycle?
I'm curious about this as well. I'm going to sleep fine but then half an hour later I'm awake and lay in bed for a couple of hours before I can go back to sleep.
Yep, it's normal. Pregnancy can *really* mess with your sleep cycle! Just try to get the extra rest that your body is needing. If you feel like you need a nap in the middle of the day, take one!
Also, benedryl is pregnancy safe, and it can be a big help. You obviously don't want to get in the habit of using it all of the time as a sleep aid, but it can be great for getting yourself back on schedule. When I start sleeping really strange hours I will take a long realxing shower early in the evening, take some benedryl and go to sleep super early. Sometimes you just need a good "reset".
I have had the same problem. I have had such a hard time with sleep since getting pregnant.
My advice in terms of changing your sleep cycle is to force yourself to get up early a few days in a row. If you get up at 7/8am....after a few days I bet you will be able to fall asleep earlier. :-)
My sleep cycle is on the fritz too - but it's anxiety related. I tapered off fluvoxamine last fall after 10+ years on it, the tapering went well but I'm realllyyy sensitive now when I'm trying to go to sleep. I've actually found being pregnant has made me so exhausted that it's helping me fall asleep~
