Hey there everyone...been SO MIA {updates, a little long}

Hi ladies,

I have TOTALLY been swamped @ work the last couple of weeks. I was acting team leader b/c mine went out of the country b/c his father passed away. It was GREAT experience since I'm looking to hopefully apply for a promotion (we have to apply for them @ my agency - govt) at the end of this year & it really prepared me for the sheer volume of work I'd be taking on. I like being busy at work b/c the day goes by quicker, but it steals my bump time, lol. Hmph!

Then this weekend, we went on our 1st long'ish OOT trip with DD to visit DH's family. It was about a 3.5 hour trip both ways & DD did great in the car. She was getting cranky towards the end of the trip heading out there, but the way back she was asleep the whole time b/c we left during bedtime. We decided to try it both ways & leaving during bedtime was definitely much better with her. It was fun & everyone loved seeing her though. One scary thing - DH's cousin's 3 yo was born a couple months prematurely, so he has had some health problems related to being born prematurely since he was born. Well he had as fever when we went to go visit DH's cousin & was acting really reserved & quiet. His cousin took her son's temp & it was 102, so she took his clothes off & let him sit in her lap to cool him down while we finished talking. and about 5 min after she did that, he started having a seizure. It last for about 15-20 min & the ambulances came & everything. It was SO scary...I almost cried. Poor guy. He was released from the hospital that same night though after they got his temp down.

And lastly, DD started her 1st solids this past weekend. Apples! And she LOVES them. :) I made 'em myself & tasted them - they were yummy. Next up, avocado!

Whew. Anyways, not sure how much I'll be around during the days I'm in the office (I am still swamped with a bunch of new responsibilities), but I miss you guys & I'll try to jump on & catch up after work at night. Hope everyone is doing well!! Any big news around here?!
