If so, are you having issues with your DVR?
We've had a few issues with our DVR lately -- it randomly records things at odd hours (it'll start a show at 8:56 instead of 9, and I haven't changed any settings), and it'll record something completely random that we've never even watched, let alone set to DVR.
But the latest is that it seems that it won't record two shows at once anymore! For example, last night I had two shows set to record at 10, but it showed that it wouldn't record one of the shows. And if we're watching TV and a show is about to record, it makes us turn the channel to that show...it won't even allow us to watch something different while another channel records. WTF?? We used to be able to record two shows and watch a third show that was DVRed.
Is this happening to everyone or am I going to be spending all afternoon on hold with DirecTV tomorrow??
Re: NBR: Does anyone have DirecTV?
do you have two dvr's in your house? we only have one, and therefore have only ever been able to record one at a time. we haven't had any issues recently though.
i'm counting down the days until at&t uverse comes to our area. LOVE them.
We have DirecTV and we are able to record two shows at once, but only if we are watching one of the shows. I'm not sure why yours all of a sudden changed...that's weird
I, too, wish that AT&T Uverse was in our area!
I have Direct TV and haven't been having any issues. They've been good to us for years.
I'm not sure of first two issues mentioned. You might want to check your managed recordings just to see if everything is set to start recording on time. Sometimes it's the actual show's fault. Sometimes they change what time it starts playing which subsequently messes up recordings. If your settings are the same, check the listings for when your shows are starting. If they're starting on time like normal, then I'm not sure what it could be.
As far as your streams....has any of your wiring changed in the past week? I know that we have 2 streams set up on our DVR, which DH did by adjusting the wiring (I'm equipment elliterate, so I'm not sure what he added, but I know he added something for the 2nd stream). Now we can record two things at once while watching a recorded show. The wiring could have gone bad? I'm not sure.
Good luck! I hope you don't have to call in.

Thanks ladies. Sounds like I'll have to call them tomorrow. They've always been good to us in the past -- our remote went wacko a few months ago, and they overnighted us a new one free of charge. We've actually had very few complaints about our service overall.
Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with the weird recording times. I missed the last 5 minutes of the Teen Mom 2 finale because it stopped recording at 10:56, or something like that. The recording time was normal, but it randomly stopped. Who knows.
We haven't changed any wiring...but come to think of it, the issues started right around the time that we had a HUGE storm that knocked out both our electricity and phone lines. I wonder if that has something to do with it....
Thanks again! I'm just glad to hear that they didn't randomly change their DVR recording allowances without telling their customers.
Have you reset it? We were having a similar recording issue. We only have one DVR so we've always had to watch one of the recording shows if it was recording 2 at once, but then suddenly it would only record 1 show at a time and it wanted to make us watch it while it recorded, which was insane. I hit the red re-set button under the cover and that fixed the issue. GL!
