Potty training...it's time to bite the bullet.

We've tried (unsuccessfully) a few months ago, but I think DS is just about ready now.  He is definitely interested and likes to sit on and pretend to go potty.  But when we take off his pants and diaper it's like I'm sitting him down on ice or hot coals.  He jumps off so fast and screams like a banshee.  So, give me your advice.  He just turned 3 last week, so mentally I think he is there.  He also tells us when he is wet/dirty.

I'd pay someone to take on this parenting task!

TIA!

  • I agree with you on paying someone to take on this task. Not looking forward to it at all. Sorry I'm no help having not been through it yet. Best of luck to you!

Have you tried letting him stand on a stool and aim? I know that sounds ridiculous but a friend of mine told me her DS wouldn't sit down to pe*e so that's what she did. She threw a few Cheerios in the toilet to help teach him to aim and make a game of it. (Anyone remember the Cheerios "unsinkable O's" advertising campaign? lol) She had him play 'sink the Cheerio".
