Hey ladies!
D' will be 1 yr old on the 29th. His party is on the 30th but we both took the day off to spend with him on his b-day as a fam. I know it's his 1st & he won't remember anything but we want to take him somewhere fun. We were planning on the zoo but his Thursday daycare group is doing a trip there on the 25th. We don't want to take him to the DC zoo until he's a little older & can enjoy it more since it'll be a long trip there & back.
What is there to do in Baltimore/surrounding area for a 1 yr old??
Re: Where to take a 1 yr old?
Have you been to Annie's Playground, in Bel Air? They have a tot park for 2-5 years, and my DD loves it. She can really climb and walk all over the place.
Also I would possible check out the B&O Railroad museum or Port Discovery.
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too! It's FREE and EASY!
We just took LO to the aquarium last week, we had fun, he wasn't interested. I would suggest the aquarium, your LO may enjoy it, or Port Discovery.
BTW...howdy neighbor....I'm in Nottingham as well!
There is tons of places to go....as pp's mentioned: aquarium and port discovery are great, but they are expensive, and can be over-stimulating for that age group.
I like the B&O museum idea, I also really like the Petting Zoo idea. There's a GREAT one in Clarksville that I still take my 3.5 year old too. It's called Clark's Elioak Farm.
The kids I nanny for have LOVED the Aquarium since they were 6 months old. They have a great area where you walk down and see tons of sharks, fish, and stingrays swimming around. I'd avoid the dolphin show as there is lots of talking and not a lot of dolphin action. Your DS might like it when he is older.
Clark's Eliaok Farm is also great.
We did the same thing for M's birthday. We took him to Chesapeake Children's Museum in Annapolis. He had a great time there and then we went to downtown Annapolis and walked around. We capped the day by having dinner/ice cream.
I would second the Science Center. It has more stuff for kids at that age to do and IMO would be a better fit than the Aquarium or Pt Discovery.
And ITA Clark's Eliaok Farm is great. We took M there two days before his bday (when he was still free
Yay Nottingham! We're close to the Fullerton area, how about you?
